CM Punk, only because his run went on for over a year. When Punk and Cena were in the same ring together, Cena would consistently be out-popped.

Bryan may be hot right now (and arguably speaking hotter than CM Punk ever was) but it's said left to be answered if Bryan can keep up this momentum after winning the championship.

In terms of business, Punk. To this day I think that corporate wanted Punk to be the next top face in time but had shit to do for the moment.

In terms of crowd reaction, easily Bryan. There is no one even close to being as over as DB in the last 8-10 years.

Thank You Punk

At one stage or another I think all of hardy , Batista, punk , orton and Bryan have been or in Daniel Bryan's are genuine threats to taking top status of Cena IMO
.... On a slightly off topic note I feel if he had stayed in wwe ken Kennedy would have been mentioned in the same conversation as these guys

Batista was never threat to Cena's status; Cena was the threat to Batista's status and he won.

In order...
Batista
Jeff Hardy
CM Punk
Daniel Bryan (even if I'm still not sold on him)

Dave Batista is what's best for business

I think only his injury were a threat to Batista's status. I think I'm not far from reality stating that he was more over and the top face of wwe in 2005

Lets see. First of all Batista was never gonna be the face of the company because of his age. Also Orton will never be, the guy is too lazy to be anything close to that and he's not really liked enough by all. Jeff also was never gonna be the face of the company the guy had a drug addiction and had a lot of issues and not trust worthy, if he never had those problems then he might have been one but not for the long run. As for Bryan nope, especially of the way they view him, he's not big enough to be one and to me he's not talented enough overall. As for Punk he could have been if he was booked as one, nobody outsold Cena in merch as much as him and the guy is very likable to the point he gets his name chanted over anyone even as a heel, tho his size was an issue in WWE eyes for some reason.

So everybody else is flawed in your eyes, but Punk is perfect. Basically what I just read. Why didn't you say anything negative about Punk? It's all WWE's fault for Punk, but the others wouldn't have been the top guy because of themselves?

It's comments like this that give us Punk fan's a bad name.
