According to Wade Keller from PWTorch, WWE's treatment of AJ since Tribute to the Troops and how he feels she's been unfairly punished is at least part of the reason CM Punk walked out last week.

Re: Do you guys think AJ Lee will pay the price for CM Punks departure?

No. I know the WWE has a history of that sort of petty punishment where they take out the sins of one member of a relationship on the other. But the thing is that usually in those cases its not someone they're very clearly high on. AJ is one of the rare cases where casuals, WWE management, and the IWC/hardcore fans seem to all mostly be on the same page. Since the office seems to like her for her I imagine she'll be spared "punishment".

Plus its also probably relevant that they haven't been dating that long.

I don't think Punk's departure was going to affect her title reign. It looks like WWE were already positioning someone to beat her for it soon even before he left. They know she draws and can work ok'ish so i think she will be fine.

Given McMahon's record to bury people that go against him I'd say it's damn likely she's buried and out of the company by 2025.

If they do bury aj lee then its better to scrap the whole division itself with the shape it is in right now.

Re: Do you guys think AJ Lee will pay the price for CM Punks departure?

She might lose the title soon but only because she's already broken the record, of course a few idiots will say it's because she's being punished if it happens. Though I doubt it, I can see her holding the title for years if not the remainder of her career. Anyway, no she won't be punished, she's too favored and backed backstage, and it has zero to do with Punk. If it means anything, Punk was taken off as the face of RAW on the WWE app while AJ remains the face of Smackdown.

As for AJ leaving for them breaking up, maybe, but definitely a lolno on AJ leaving for Punk. She loves this business too much and is way too big a mark for herself. Punk is just another wrestling boyfriend for her of which she's had multiple. She'll probably miss his Tour Bus more than she misses him.

Re: Do you guys think AJ Lee will pay the price for CM Punks departure?

No to both I reckon. AJ is heavily supported by Steph and Vince, I don't think she'll be punished just for being associated with Punk. On the same token unless Punk comes back soon I can't see their relationship lasting with AJ still on the road. Those saying AJ would leave WWE for Punk are nuts. This is all AJ has ever wanted her entire life. I cannot see her giving it all up just for Punk.

Re: Do you guys think AJ Lee will pay the price for CM Punks departure?

1. I doubt it. Regardless of what the intentional anti-AJ Lee trolls on these forums who have suddenly decided to pretend to be big Bella and Eva Marie fans tell you, they would not keep giving her and adding to her merchandise unless she moved items. She keeps getting something new every month, which means she sells. That means she makes money for Vince, which means he won't punish her. Plus in my mind the Beadle thing is over with. It's almost 2 months ago already and I don't see any semblance of a punishment for it. She's still the champion and on TV every week.

2. I really don't care to be honest if CM Punk and AJ Lee stay together or not. Not my business.
