I wasn't going to comment in this thread because I just expected a load of Curtis Axel shite .. which is bullshit, because Curtis Axel has got a lot of charisma, it's the scripts and the way he's booked that suffocates this, when you see Axel outside of the scripted work (IE ring entrances, working the crowd, his stances on the ropes, his in ring taunts, his backstage segments of him walking for his match) .... you can see very clearly that he has a lot of charisma ... I just couldn't be arsed arguing this among the people who are so set in their ways, or following a trend at the moment.

You hit the nail on the head there and you are right, even though I still don't think his booking that he has now is as bad as people make out (charisma wise), but you clearly see exactly what I'm saying here, which has surprised me (not surprised me in regards to you, but surprised me in regards to someone making the comment and 'getting it' so to speak), kudos to you!

Also, reading through this thread RetepAdam here talks a lot of sense.

shelton seriously lacked charisma. reminds of another guy, lashly he was no good.

by the way what's the difference between lashly and lesner. lashly sucked on the mic but lesner fared no better. the only thing i can think of lesner was a monster heel who looked legit.

Lashley LOOKED legit. That's about all he had going for him, though.

I'm not like John Lennon, who thought he was the great almighty. I just think I'm John Lennon.

I'll take this as a compliment - so thank you!
But seriously, I mean...his entrance ALWAYS gets me pumped up. He's got a good swagger when he comes to the ring and holds himself well and you could say his booking has gotten better, but he's perpetually the third wheel, which doesn't help.
Have you ever seen his little backstage things with Santino? Hilarious! I wish they'd let him have more control over what he says and does...he'd make a really good midcarder if given the chance.

Yep, he has, he has held the IC title, yet his booking has had him be the guy who gets beat up for Heyman quite a bit ... which doesn't overly make a lot of sense for someone who's holding a championship belt ... though I'm hoping they give Axel some stronger booking soon ... will see.

I'm wondering if Ryback is going to go against him at some point though and take the title .... again, will just have to see.

His work with Kidd in NXT was great if only more people saw it.

In all honesty, I wouldn't mind him losing the title, but a face turn should come out of it. He struck me as a face as soon as he actually debuted under the Curtis Axel name. He's be good in a similar position as Dolph (when he's not losing all the time).
