everyone loves the little guys doing well
and yeah, marked out at that finish. Best bit of play in the game came from a player who didn't even touch the ball. Sturridge's dummy to get Suarez in on goal was great. Glad that they're already working well together. Even Downing had a good game out on the wing.

Re: Tell The Truth
If you get a better defence together like it was a few years back and sort out taking your chances I have to frustratingly admit you have a squad that can beat a lot of teams. Was quite enjoying your Simpsons esque decline as well
That it does Shep, would you believe we have our own version of the Boy who cried Wolf?

Re: Tell The Truth
Our defense isn't too bad. Another CB and we'd be fine. Johnson/Kelly/Wisdom as our right backs, Skrtel/Agger/??? as our CB's and Enrique/Robinson as our left back. Coates needs more games so hopefully we loan him out seeing as if he develops like he was talked up to then he could be a great player in the future. Especially with his size. Kelly has been out injured so i'm hoping he can come back just as good as i really rate him.
Basically i think we need a keeper, a decent CB to rotate in, and another winger and we'd be fine.

Yeah, I guess I just have bad memories of your defence and midfield back in the 08-09 season and how frustratingly good you were for much of the season. Carragher and Skrtel in their peak, Reina when he wasn't poor and the likes of Mascherano in the middle protecting the defence. Still remember how we went from seasons of beating you home and away to losing 3 in a row in the space of one season with that team.

Re: Tell The Truth
Thats the thing though, our defense hasn't been too bad and neither has our attack. For example we've conceeded 1 less goal in a game less than United, 1 more than Spurs with 1 more game played and 2 more than Everton having played 1 more game so our defense has been solid enough. Our attack has been slightly worse than the others around us but not glaringly so. Its just a favourite of everyone to talk about our decline and how shit we are. We're not far away from the top pack, a bit more consistancy and we'd be right up there hunting for a CL place.
Players like Hendo and Lucas if we go back a few seasons getting crapped because they're not in the same class as Mascherano and Alonso but really, they're never really played too badly.

Re: Tell The Truth
True, there's enough quality in the team to challenge further up the table regardless of what others think. Its a sign of how much more competitive the Premier League has gotten overall as opposed to just being a quality issue with Liverpool. Everton, Spurs and Arsenal for example aren't that far ahead in terms of performances and squad potential, although some of the mongs in the Premier League thread would probably laugh off any talk of you challenging for the CL spots, despite how close you are and given how the sides ahead of you (Everton & Spurs) are known for their inconsistent form.

Re: Tell The Truth
Already have had that in the thread from Rousey (expected it from him) and sXe (muppet).
Premier League is getting more and more talent heavy. Like if QPR can get M'vila then they'll have a team with m'bia, m'vila, remy, granero, taarabt, hoilett, cesar etc which should be nowhere close to finishing last. Southampton have a ton of good young talent which they can keep if they stay in the prem as opposed to selling them off like they had to in the past. Newcastle shouldn't be 16th with the roster they have.
