I'm saving up for the tuition and might be heading to Afa's school or Dory Funk's next year. Depends. First, I'm trying to bulk up, though. I'm only 155 pounds and I'm 5'5 or so. Pretty damn short. Who are you training with and where?
I start training with Truth Martini at his House of Truth wrestling school on May 9th of next year. It's cool that your not huge bro, just do your thing and find a style that fits you. I'm 6'2" and 230 trying to cut some of the flab and build some more of the muscle, but that's not even the challenge. I'm kind've just experimenting with different gimmicks and getting mentally prepared to take this step. I've got a great friend who comes to my father's dry cleaners where I work at and he's an indy wrestler who graduated from Truth's. He wrestles all over the indies in Michigan, and did a few ROH shows. Goes by the name of Lou Crank and worked a match with Tyler Black. This is some of the awesome advice he gives me.
well the first day you're just going to learn how to fall maybe all week just bump to condition your body. You need just get ready to run the ropes fall backward, frontward it will be a test if you want it bad enough some guys quit the first week. Some guys are just lazy but pay attention and be willing to learn
Like I said its going to be times that u will get discourage because a wrestler is an independent contractor. The wrestler job is to get his name out there, search for different camps to attend, show up at shows and do what it takes to get on those shows. The wrestler job is to train get in shape and come up with a gimmick. The one thing I can tell you is when you think you're not close to your goal that's when you're pretty close. I had wwe call me twice but they were just not ready to bring me in because of my size. But I knew I was close because at least they knew who I was I have travel and wrestled for ring of honor wrestling twice. I have worked on their shows 4 times. I guess what I am saying is when you think your goal is far far far away its really close. So never doubt yourself if GOD has put that desire in your heart that means go for it! oh never think you're too good to do anything in this business set up rings, referee if u have to and go to wrestling camps that's where u will really learn and develop your in ring skills. You can only so much from a wrestling school before I received my training from truth I went to Dan savern wrestling school. I then went to truth after truth I traveled and attended Harley race camp. After that I went to Ohio valley wrestling camp where I rubbed noses with the right people to wrestle on their television. But this business is fun and you will meet a lot of people and have a lot of fun.
Location: highway jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Re: Tell The Truth
Seth "Get the fuck off my TV and get back down to the indies where you belong" Rollins.
Guy is a super talented athlete but everything about him screams indy wrestler and unless he completely changes his ways i'm not convinced he is going to make it in WWE. Guy is all style (indy style) and little substance IMO.
That being said I felt the same way about Matt Sydal/Evan Bourne and he is doing 1000x better than I ever thought he would.
