Lesnar/Bryan is really the only match I could see capturing Lesnar in his truest form that we saw in Chicago. I think a Punk match with Punk working face would be mechanically fine since Punk is a very good seller and would know how to construct a match built around working underneath Lesnar, but there's just something missing compared to Lesnar/Bryan where I feel Bryan's grappling ability could work as a better form of comeback than Punk's strikes.
Orton really wouldn't click with Lesnar imo. Brittle from his past injuries and not likely to bump in a dissimilar way to HHH did and he's not really a good enough babyface worker to pull a crowd into his beating and comeback imo.
True. If this was Rock in his prime then maybe we would have seen a great babyface performance against Lesnar but you are right that his stamina issues and his ring rust prevent him from doing that.
Does anyone think we will see the Shield take on Rock/Cena/HHH at Extreme rules? Shield currently don't have a feud (I'm assuming) and Rock still hasn't addressed the Shield after he was attacked by them. HHH is like the only top face that the Shield haven't attacked as well. The only negative in this match is that the WWE title will not be defended at the PPV. Although, I'm predicting Mark Henry vs Cena at Extreme Rules and Lesnar/Rock feud will start tonight on RAW. Rock will only be at Extreme Rules to challenge Lesnar (like how HHH appeared in No Way Out 2012 just to challeng Brock Lesnar).
