Yeah I recall the lists being posted back when Skyfall was gathering momentum before its release. Think YOLT did well on most lists in terms of being at worst in the middle. Cheers for the Blofeld explanation. I had it pegged it was his first appearance but couldn't remember for sure .

From Russia with Love or Goldfinger would be my #1. Most of the films I haven't seen for a while so I can only recall those I thought absolutely stood out amongst the rest.

Ah cheers, looks a belting list. Nice to see Licence to Kill up there. Always thought Dalton's take on Bond was creative and unique and something that deserves more credit. A fine way to modernize him from the Connery & Moore interpretations of the character and focus on his actual skilled combat credentials and how he could be your worst enemy to have stalking and hounding you.

Not sure where Skyfall would land for me. I remember thinking Bardem's performance was amongst the best I've ever seen in a Bond film and there was a great balance between making it a modern Bond film, whilst playing to classic cliches people think of when it comes to the series as well as how it tied in the continuity regarding M and Q and Moneypenny.

Goldeneye would rank at number one for me. So let the hate rain down.

Good to see you plug Tomorrow Never Dies, Rush. It's a forgotten good one in the bunch.

I'd have Man With the Golden Gun & Diamonds Are Forever a bit higher. Recall having a lot of fun with both of those. It would be so much easier to know if I owned more. 6 doesn't cut it.

I loved Skyfall and yeah i think its mostly in part to having a 'proper' villain for the first time in awhile. Quantum had a scrawny guy, Casino Royale had a banker, Die Another Day had a fucking Korean with plastic surgery to be a rich white guy (ugh), World Is Not Enough had a double agent (without being an agent idk) chick with a good henchman, Tomorrow Never Dies had a journalist. So yeah, last good villain was back in Goldeneye.

Goldeneye was amazing, the fuck are you on Bully?

man With The Golden Gun was fun, but a bit campy and could've been done so much better. Bond potentially having someone after him personally is an intriguing storyline and they didn't do it well in The Man With The Golden Gun.

Yeah Silva was menacing, intriguing and built as an equal to Bond. I do love when they focus on a villain being eerily similar to Bond in terms of skill, intelligence and their general threat as Silva was, rather than relying on the muscle or their numbers to be seen as a threat to Bond. I do wish they'd have kept him around because there was a great opportunity to have him return in the future. Could have made for a nice bit of continuity in the franchise and really make his eventual death a real feat for Bond to have accomplished.

Sad to see Judi Dench depart but in light of her health it wasn't avoidable. Excited by what Ralph Fiennes will do in the role.

I'd put Diamonds pretty damn high if they had a better Blofeld, I fucking love Charles Gray (Man narrated Rocky Horror Picture Show for christ sake) but Blofeld he ain't.

Moonraker's a strange film for me, I know it's not great (LOL CENTRIFUGE) but there are parts of it I really, really like (The fight in the glass room, Hugo Drax (I'm a Michael Lonsdale mark, fuck it), that one bit where Bond shoots Drax's sniper out a tree).

I should really do a re-ranking of Bond, watched them all over the past 3 months since I got the Blu-Ray boxset for Christmas (DALTON IN HD )

EDIT: Man With The Golden Gun's a weird one, there are parts of it that are just.... godawful (J.W. Pepper for example), but some of the scenes (Stuff like the bit where Bond goes to meet Scaramanga's lover, are pretty outstanding), it's damn close to being one of the best "campy" Bond movies if they'd only done some bloody editing and took out the slide whistle.

Christopher Lee was the man though, will hear nothing against that.

was just watching the final match in that series recently, its like a Rocky movie or some shit, so epically emotional when Hash finally gets the win, Tenryu is the king of the expression of utter disdain, its scarier than most guys finishers, Ive been saying we need a Tenryu smiley on here, only to be used when shit gets serious.
Only seen the odd random tag matches from them, might go looking for more now that you mention it.

On Bond I'll agree with Goldfinger and TRWL as 1 and 2, saw Skyfall the other week and thought it was pretty good but the member here of the same name claiming it as the greatest british movie ever made is one of the dumbest things Ive ever read here.
