I do like Sheamus, I really do. I still mark a little on the inside every time he walks out, simply because his theme from FCW is playing AND he's holding the WWE Championship. It's still unreal at this point for a developmental follower like me.
However... I saw that picture, and the opportunity was too good to pass up.

I liked his theme better when it still had that light intro, though.
Think I'd rather just swap the former with the latter and see if anyone notices...

Well, I don't know how possible it is with your entertainment-first point of view... but it's possible, man. It really is. Once I found out about the developmentals, I was absolutely HOOKED. I couldn't get enough of it. I was checking out these young guys that I was pretty sure the majority of other people didn't know about. I was getting the first glance at what could be future WWE superstars. I was getting to see them develop. I thought it was so cool. Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, Batista, Shelton Benjamin, John Cena. That was the first group of guys I was introduced to; the first group of up-and-comers that I became familiar with. Look what happened there. The excitement I get from being able to recapture that time after time is unmatched.
But even for you, there are options. There's this guy down in FCW by the name of Alex Riley who is really working the mic like a pro right now. I wish I could find videos of his promos, but there don't seem to be many online.
I was really referring to getting into Sheamus specifically rather than getting into the developmental system. I just don't see.....anything there. He's just a large brute, practically identical to every other big guy except for his look but a look shouldn't be a sole reason to push somebody. I'm still baffled as to why he accomplished more in 6 months than Christian has in 10 years. Mcintyre is much better.
I don't know if I could get into FCW though. I already don't watch ECW because there are no major names there so I can't imagine watching the developmentals. I know it's to see who you think the WWE is going to invest in later, but I just take that as it comes. As for Alex Riley, I saw 3 segments with him only having limited mic time and he seemed decent enough but not overly special, but then again those weren't promos. Might as well put him on tv and see what happens, I'd rather see him get an honest shot than see Morrison fail at getting pushed for the 50'th time. However I don't think he'll get much of anywhere with a high school jock gimmick, or.....whatever he's supposed to be. That's what it looks like.

To be perfectly honest, the first time I saw Alex Riley come out with that letter jacket on, I was like "...you've gotta be fucking kidding me."
Then he picked up the mic. I was sold.
That may be, but I still don't think a guy who dresses like that will go anywhere. Maybe I'm crazy though. Not doubting him, he should just be.....normal, I guess.
