Thread where you can ask BBR his opinion on stuff. And he responds. Because he can't help himself :waffle
FIRST QUESTION:
Using a five star rating, and elaborating on the rating given, what is the realistic ceiling/best outcome of a final match in a Matadores vs Luchas feud, for BOTH the NXT and WWE stage (so two distinct ratings), given current climate, booking teams, etc. Assume they don't have an endless amount of time. Say, come next wrestlemania/whichever NXT PPV they DARE plan for anywhere NEAR wrestlemania.
If Tom is travelling 84 miles to point A and manages to average 63 miles an hour and Alan has to travel 64 miles to point A and averages 58 miles an hour but leaves 15 minutes later than Tom, who arrives at point A first?
Very interesting question. Lol @ tagging all of my names. You missed The Reigns Train though :hayden3
On topic, without restrictions, the two teams could have a 3 star match. Of course under this basis I am using the NXT umbrella. Vince McMahon is known to shun and slow down the lucha style, so the match would likely be considerably worse in WWE. Despite being a comedy jobber tag team for so long, Los Matadores could potentially have a better feud and match with the Lucha Dragons than Gotch and English did. The NXT writing team is significantly better than WWE's, but they dropped the ball with the Vaudevillains vs. Lucha Dragons feud. I feel if more effort is put into this, the two teams would mesh well with each other based on their styles. Make the story the battle for the kings of lucha. Get rid of Torito or minimize his involvement. He detracts from the show and insults the audience. The novelty wore off a year ago.
In summary, 3 stars NXT, 1 star WWE. WWE would put ZERO effort into the feud, making them fight every week with variations of singles matches that end in lame distraction rollups, which in turn makes the match mean less, and that combined with Vince's dumb restrictions make for inevitable disappointment.

Raw is a 3 hour long show, actual run time seems to be about 2 hours and 10 minutes. Given 130 minutes of RAW a week, how much time do you feel WWE should give the divas division?
This is a good question. We always talk about how the Divas don't get enough time, but we've never sat and discussed how much they need. Based on the success of the NXT women with their average match length, I'd say an average of 4 minutes and a maximum of 7 minutes would be sufficient. The length of time given is based on the talent of the performers. For example: if you have Eva Marie vs. Cameron, give them the bare minimum, and if you have AJ vs. Natalya, give them 7 minutes. These 7 minutes don't always need to be catered to in ring time though. Microphone time should also be designated as appropriate. For example: AJ, Summer Rae, and Nikki Bella should get far more microphone time than Brie, Emma, and Natalya. For the women who aren't so good on the microphone, give them backstage segments where the more competent speaker carries the conversation that leads to an ambush or brawl if necessary.
:hmm....This is tough. I have far too many fond memories from the Attitude Era. Outside of the AE, it's easily The Rock saving Team WWF at Survivor Series during The Invasion angle. I was 12 and still believed in kayfabe, so I was very happy that my favorite wrestler saved the company from going out of business.
Given a hypothetical "making them look legit" divas storyline, in which the divas start getting malcontent with the way they're being treated and rebel against the male roster and powers that be to "take what they're not being given" (respect, time, opportunity), which current roster Diva do you book to enter the Rumble and actually hang in there for quite some time (say, final four or close to that) to "represent" for the ladies, and why?
Well if they gave Sasha the damn title, it would be Charlotte without question. Since she's stuck on NXT, this question is clearly worded in a way that makes me choose Paige :kobe8. Paige is the most credible female on the roster with her initial dominant run and 3.0 win ratio. With proper Russo booking, not many would have questioned her entrance into the Rumble. He'd have made her a Hardcore Diva that can hang with the men a la Chyna. Final four is too much though. I'd give her about 4 eliminations on expendable wrestlers like Los Matadores, Heath Slater, and Santino while holding her own for a good 10 minutes.
He looks, performs, sounds, and acts like the reincarnated WCW Mysterio. The resemblance is so eery I'm about to convert to Buddhism. He screams marketability and success as a top Mexican babyface. We desperately need that right now, and you know it. Neville's appeal has a smaller ceiling. Kalisto is better for long term business. In terms of ability, they're probably equal.
You said to me before that wrestlers with a niche audience could become huge if handled right. Tell everyone on the forum that disagrees why and how so?
Why is Finn Balor your favourite NXT guy despite being on the roster for less than two months and having no great matches or promos over thirty seconds long? Unless you were actually a fan of his work in Japan, of course.
No, because he can't be taken seriously. He's shown us nothing to indicate that he's not a total goofball. Sandow has with his worked shoot promos on the APP and the preshow. Slater also looks like a dork, which doesn't help. I couldn't even take him seriously when he was trying to be a hard ass in the Nexus.
Yes, and unpopular opinion, I think Cena should have ended it because he deserved it more than anyone. Lesnar's title reign has been a complete joke. With the awful way that WWE "builds new stars", ending the streak would have ruined anyone else. Cena was the most qualified in kayfabe with his accomplishments and reality with his dedication to the business, and he'd be booed regardless, so he's bulletproof.
Let me chime in.
Do you think 2015 is the right year for Sasha Banks to get called up to the main roster? Should she make her debut before WrestleMania?
2015, yes, before Wrestlemania, no. The Divas are in a rebuilding stage right now and I feel Sasha's character would be too much for them to handle. I would like her to appear sometime around Summerslam, provided that the NXT Division is able to stand on its own. She's the best thing going down there and they have no credible heels nor faces besides Charlotte. Bayley's been jobbing a lot and she's on the road to recovery, so this would be a great time to build up Alexa Bliss as the next top babyface while phasing out Charlotte, and Carmella as the next top heel while phasing out Sasha.
I think that's complete horseshit. If there is any merit to that report, it's a horrible idea. Reigns should lose the title around Summerslam. To who? Hell if I know. Everyone might be buried by then. It's WWE's job to build stars right now, and it's becoming even more crucial on the Road to Wrestlemania. When your top draw is 55 years old, you've got serious problems.
Oooh, another good question. I'd have to say Sasha Banks has grown on me the most, thanks to you Paige fans for making me check out NXT and Oxi for constantly putting her over. Paige has to be most improved. The talent I've soured on the most this year...:hmm...probably Rollins, but mostly because of his awful heel booking.
Paige and Sasha are (as I'm sure you're aware) 22 years old at the time of this post. Layla, the oldest diva on the roster right now, is 37. Do you think either of these two young divas will still be around/in the WWE in 15 years time/at Layla's age?
I'm not even sure if this company will be around in 15 years
.
