This is something I've wanted to do for a very long time and today I'm finally pulling the trigger.
I've gone ahead and created a theoretical Pro Wrestling World Championship that will debut at the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble where the winner of the rumble will not only be considered the #1 contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but will also be recognized as the first ever Global Heavyweight Grand Champion. Much like professional boxing has the WBO, WBC, WBA, and IBF, I figured the wrestling world could use a sanctioning body to award another World Championship. A fully sanctioned title that isn't a "prop". So, with that said, I've gone ahead and opened up a © and ™ using the phrase "Global Heavyweight Grand Championship" as well as started an LLC for a company named "Pro Wrestling Sanctioning Authority" (which exists only in name) and for the small fee of $75 I now own the right to crown any professional wrestler I want the Global Heavyweight Grand Champion. Now, of course the WWE won't recognize this, and the wrestling who is awarded the title has the right not to recognize it, but regardless of the who's and what's of the situation I now have the legal authority to crown a World Champion in the sport of Pro Wrestling. Neat huh?
With the creation of the Global Heavyweight Grand Championship I've created some important rules that will be in full effect as of the awarding of the title to it's first holder, and the rules are as follows...
1. The title can only be won via pinfall, submission or if the winner of a championship match completes certain tasks as demanded by the match guidelines such as escaping a cage or grabbing a belt from a ladder. DQ's and count out's do not cause the title to change hands. Also, the title can only be defended in 1 on 1 matches only, excluding triple threats, multi-man matches, tag-team matches, and other specialty contests.
2. The title is to be defended on PPV only and/or a special event. Raw, Smackdown, Main Event, and other weekly televised shows do not count as title defenses should the champion be wrestling.
3. Should the champion leave the WWE as the Global Heavyweight Grand Champion than he may defend the title outside of the WWE as long as it's on a PPV or a non-weekly special card. If an increased time goes by where this does not happen than the board of directors will discuss what to do and who the new champion will be.
4. If the champion is injured or does not defend his title for a total of 3 months than he will officially be stripped of the belt and a vote will be put forth by the board of directors as to which 1 on 1 match at the following PPV will be for the championship.
More rules and regulations as the need becomes available.
I'd love to put together a board of directors for this championship where we could discuss the rules and regulations surrounding the title as well as make important decisions for it during it's lifespan. If interested than just ask and I'll add you to the board of directors.
