Yo sup bloods it's me it's me it's EM DEE PEE.
Lately I've been considering running a play-by-post RPG set in the (new)World Of Darkness setting. The story would involve a group of unrelated characters finding themselves caught in a web of supernatural intrigue at a country bed and breakfast. There'd be cults, freaks, monsters and all sorts of scary shit. Investigations. Fights. Fun.
The gameplay would basically involve making and controlling character (or selecting from premade stat templates, whichever would be easier) with stats and skills. For example one character may have a lot of physical skills and be good at breaking shit, and another character could be good at investigation and logical reasoning, etc. Your character's skills would determine their chances of success; a smart character has a better chance of finding clues while a stronger character would have a better chance kicking a brainwashed cultist's head in, a social character would have a better chance talking themselves out of a sticky situation.
I would act as a storyteller\dungeon master type, mainly to handle the enemies\nonplayercharacters and maybe do any dice rolls that are needed.
There'd be light roleplaying. Put on your wizard hat, bitch.
I was considering having this be a play-by-post game, but was also considering doing it maybe as a weekly thing. That way everyone that shows up can play, and we don't have to wait for people that are on vacation.
Thoughts? Ideas? Comments? Good idea, bad idea?
