REBOOKING - Tournaments

INTRODUCTION:
I put this idea forward in the chatbox a few days ago to some of the other posters in this section and they thought it was an alright idea.

This is in suggestions mode! I want to make sure that not only people actually would like to play this, but also that it's as good as it can be. If you have any suggestions, please post!

The idea came to me pretty randomly and another poster mentioned how this could work especially because it's a smaller, quicker and simpler variant of the drafts.
I don't want to eliminate the drafts from the section or anything, but I think that if we incorporate this similar-yet-different game, there are some things to do while posters/players are picking their superstars for their custom roster.
And I understand the similarities between Be The Booker and this idea; but this tournament style idea is competitive, comparative and intended for fun!

CONCEPT:
Whoever is running the season* will choose a specific year of WCW or WWE starting at January and ending in December. Eight posters will sign up to play. Each round will consist of four PPVs (3 rounds total).

It will run like current-day WWE Raw does. It's basically just one big roster.

It's quite simple - every player has the exact same roster - whichever superstars, divas, and on-air personalities were signed to appear in the real life chosen year, and you book only the PPVs. You don't book the shows inbetween, like Raw, Smackdown, Nitro, ECW, etc.

For example, if we chose 2013, we will have wrestlers such as Orton, Cena, Punk, Bryan, AJ and maybe even NXT talent like Zayn, Graves, Rusev, Neville and Paige.

However, because the year is 2013, the rosters will not have legends like Hogan, Austin, Rock, Hart, Michaels.

*I'll run the first season if this is well received and people want to play it. As usual, whoever wins will choose the roster.

HOW MUCH CUSTOMISATION WILL THERE BE?

There isn't any customisation of the rosters. You're allowed to use as many superstars/divas as you wish, and whichever ones you wish. There will however be a minimum of matches for each different PPV, and gimmick matches like the Royal Rumble will still exist.

You can choose whatever championships you would like to use on the show, and how many.
To elaborate on this, if the year was 2013, you can have all main roster championships for defence if you really want to. Be mindful that excessive title defences may be harmful to your cards!

RATING/VOTING, PROGRESSION:

When a player posts their first round of PPVs (either three or four), every other person - player or observer - will be allowed to 'vote' on their PPVs, and the person with the highest scores will continue to the next round.

You will not be rating a posters' combination of PPVs. You will rate each PPV separately. IE, 9/10 for the Royal Rumble, 7/10 for the Elimination Chamber, and 9/10 for the WrestleMania. The total score is 25/30, which is then added up with other voters after a day or two period. The one with the lowest score is eliminated. You must vote on all players' cards or none; and every person participating must vote on each others cards honestly!

Anyway I don't want the OP to be longer in-case it scares people off or people would prefer not to play. So any questions, don't hesitate to ask/post here. Same with suggestions like I said before.

Long story short, the person running the thread chooses or generates a random year, and you book the PPVs (not the shows) whichever way you want, using the superstars and divas that were available that year.

Instead of going January-December, we should go from the day after Wrestlemania and end with Mania, Starrcade in WCW's case.

So how will we choose what rosters we get? Are we just gonna randomly draw it? Because that'd be really fucking cool.
Yea I was thinking maybe doing it from the first PPV after WM to the end of WM but I think there would have to be more clarifying on that, because it's not just one year, but two.

Choosing the year is a bit iffy though. I'm not sure if I should randomly choose one from say, 1996 all the way to 2013, or pick a year that most people here would be knowledgeable about, like say between 2005-2013.

Any other questions entirely welcomed. If you have an opinion on anything please voice it as I want this to be the best it can be.

Should you be allowed to choose your faces and heels, tag teams and stables, or should they be based on the role/position of the superstars in the year?

IE you HAVE to have heel Triple H in 2004 as part of Evolution, or you can make your own stable with a face HHH... or no stable at all?

I'm heading to bed so if there are any questions/suggestions/whatever I'll answer in the morning.

Hopefully I'll start this up within two days.

Really need input on how to decide the first year. Should I generate a year from 1996-2013 or generate a year from 2005-2013?

So is this too long for an OP? Am I making it too complicated for what should be a simple game? :$

Introduction:

This is the first season of the "Rebooking PVP Tournaments"!

Please use the original thread for discussion of the concept, rules, etc, so that this thread can be used solely for the cards, and voting.

This season is essentially the beta mode season. I generated the most recent years in WWE history - 2005 to 2013 - to make it easier for everyone to understand how this game works, and the year generated was 2013. Current year WWE!

Rules & Reminders:

  • You begin booking at Extreme Rules 2013, and finish at WrestleMania 30.
  • You can only use WWE talent that were on the roster in this year (2013).
  • Part-timers can be used. However, they have limited appearances depending on their tier.
  • Developmental talent (eg. Sami Zayn) can be used in this year as part of the main roster.
  • Any main roster championship that has been defended in the WWE in this year can be used. Championships that have not been defended cannot be used.
  • Anyone who has competed in a match this year can be used as a wrestler. That means Paul Heyman and Brad Maddox can wrestle full time, if you wish.
  • At the beginning of the tournament, you must choose your starting champions.
  • You have the option to choose your own commentators using on-air personalities (eg JBL, Colter, Heyman) if you wish.
  • I'm relying on you to ensure the talent you use were on the roster in the chosen year!
Any questions, please ask in the original thread or via PM.

Part Timers:

There are four tiers for part-timers. Each tier is used to show how many appearances the talent can make in the year.
You do not have to use part timers.

Tier A. One Appearances:
N/A

Tier B. Two Appearances:
The Undertaker
Triple H
The Rock

Tier C. Three Appearances:
Brock Lesnar

Tier D. Four Appearances:
Rob Van Dam
Chris Jericho

Rounds and Voting:

Each round consists of four PPVs. Every participant will book their PPVs in real life order, with a minimum of seven matches, and a maximum of ten matches.
Posting winners is necessary.
A mock card will be posted below, in the Required Tools part of this post.

The list of PPVs for the 2013 season: (Round 1 in RED, Round 2 in GREEN, Round 3 in BLUE)

1. Extreme Rules
2. Payback
3. Money in the Bank
4. SummerSlam
5. Night of Champions
6. Battleground
7. Hell in a Cell
8. Survivor Series
9. TLC
10. Royal Rumble
11. Elimination Chamber
12. WrestleMania XXX

When a participant posts their PPVs, voters will rate each PPV separately out of 10. For example, I post my first round of PPVs: Extreme Rules, Payback, MITB and SummerSlam.
You will rate each PPV separately, 0-10/10, and then the total ratings will be combined.
I will then work out the average of the votes, and the lowest two participants will unfortunately be eliminated.
Remember this is friendly, so don't vote low on others just to win!
