Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson love nothing more than to brag — about the large downside guarantees on their contracts, about beating up “nerds” and, of course, about being the Raw Tag Team Champions.
But if Enzo Amore & Big Cass can back up Enzo’s big-talking ways at WWE Fastlane 2017, where they challenge for Raw’s tandem titles, the cowboys in black will have one fewer thing to gloat about.
The Realest Guys in the Room became the next in line to compete for the Raw Tag Team Titles after defeating former champions Cesaro & Sheamus in a No. 1 Contenders’ Match on the Feb. 20 edition of Raw. Though the victory was a major feather in the cap of Enzo & Cass, Amore couldn’t resist trash-talking the downed competition after the fact — a decision he almost certainly regretted seconds later when The Celtic Warrior responded with a vicious Brogue Kick.
That indiscretion aside, Enzo & Cass still find themselves in the coveted position of challenging for the Raw Tag Team Titles at WWE Fastlane. Can the effective combination of Enzo’s speed and Cass’ brute force result in their first title win in WWE? Or will Gallows & Anderson keep a steady grip on their championships and build upon their already impressive resumes?
Watch this high-stakes Raw Tag Team Championship conflict play out at WWE Fastlane, live on the award-winning WWE Network Sunday, March 5, at 8 ET/5 PT.
I thought Sheamus & Cesaro would have worked their way into this thing. Maybe they will find themselves in for a WrestleMania (Kickoff) match? It doesn't feel right to move the belts yet. Enzo also seems to be doing a Scrappy-Doo gimmick, so it's logical he gets knocked out by Gallows for the ending or something.
While Enzo and Cass need the titles, they can't have The Club lose them on the first defense. So many titles right now have that problem where the champion loses on their first ppv defense. My god give champs credibility by defending titles successfully.
Yesterday I was so certain that Gallows & Anderson would win, but then I tricked myself out of it. A lot of these matches can go either way because it really doesn't matter who wins. Sure, Enzo has been an annoying yapping puppy, but is it unthinkable that he and Cass win the belts and Enzo continues to talk tough and get Cass into trouble? If they're going to do a tag team clusterfuck at WrestleMania for the RAW belts (I'm thinking Enzo & Cass vs. Sheamus & Cesaro vs. Gallows & Anderson vs. Rusev & Jinder and I'm definitely thinking it will be on the Kickoff), wouldn't it make sense for Enzo to open his big mouth and challenge all those teams? Or do they just switch the belts to pop the crowd then switch them back on RAW because they can?
This is what trying to predict the WWE does to your brain. Gallows & Anderson seem like the sensible bet, but that depends on the WWE being sensible. I'm kind of leaning towards the change happening, because there won't be time for a big moment like that at Mania, it seems they are heading to the break and probably want to put the straps on them at some point, and Gallows & Anderson keeping them doesn't do much of anything with the belts. They really do feel like filler champions.
Where did this Enzo and Cass hate come from, I havent watched Raw since the Festival of Friendship episode and havent watched any episode before that. I only watch Smackdown regularly
I've never been high on them myself. I think the shtick works in short bursts, but once the charm of the sing-along wears off, what you are left with is pretty bland.
