I might move Braun....but not until after the draft.

I assume it was his vote. Or he was showing off his mathematical ability.

GA, your vote for number of categories suggests you're an amateur. I thought you were a pro, man? Explain.

Dunno. It worked last year. I enjoyed it. When you start throwing around all these random ass categories balance becomes an issue. Successful teams will focus on tanking categories instead of building a team that's all around efficient. But I'm just one vote.

re: WF Baseball Keeper League - Draft = Wed, Mar 6 @ 10pm CT. Lock keepers ASAP.
Skimming through the thread I see a lot of demand for increasing everything. My initial reaction to that is that I think it's going to greatly increase the value of draft picks in the dispersal draft, and whoever does the best job acquiring picks last season/this offseason is going to completely dominate initially and probably throughout the year. We could very well see a team come out of the draft with a JM fantasy basketball type of team which would pretty much kill the league for me.
Increased categories - Fine. As long as it's balanced. Would like to hear about some other leagues using 7x7 or 8x8 successfully and what cats they use.
Increased roster sizes - Not sure. I'm a huge fan of streaming, and I thought our free agency lottery worked really well last year. Increased active rosters/benches may very well lead to people just setting their lineups and not tinkering with their team at all on a day-to-day basis.
Increased keeper numbers - Against. I want the draft to be strong and people to have to make tough decisions on their keepers every year.
I don't like draft pick trading, btw. People undervalue draft picks (and so nobody cries veto when someone trades for draft picks) and sometimes it can lead to rape-train teams.

At the end of the day, the team with the best players will win. That's how it works.
The 8x8 just allows for more players to have value. Which is beneficial for trading, a healthy waiver wire, allowing bottom cellar teams to compete more actively in the trade market, and it allows teams to comeback from a deficit in the standings.
These aren't algorithms we're adding. These are simple stats.

Have you played in an 8x8 league before? I'm searching through Fantasybaseballcafe right now seeing if anyone has had success with 7x7, 8x8, 9x9 or 10x10. Here's an interesting thread.

The only one under any serious consideration are the categories.

here is a link to a current league i'm in. started as a 9x9 for the two seasons. this past season was a 10x10. so to answer your question, yes. 3 seasons now with a minimum of 9x9.

I too am a fan of streaming. I'm okay with leaving the rosters at 21-22. But I'd like to see the waivers changed to everyday. And away with the money system. Trading players/picks for money is stupid to me. You're trading away a proven item (player) for an unknown entity (free agent money). We cannot qualify that deal for a veto/non-veto since we don't know what that free agent money will lead to. so because of that, i propose just getting rid of the money altogether. or not allowing trading of it. waiver priority list seems fair to me.
definitely do not want more than 5 keepers. 5 is plenty. i like the draft, and i want the draft to mean something.
i'm okay with trading picks. but definitely want a cap on that. how many picks did aid and flex trade away? like 6-7? 3 max, imo.

re: WF Baseball Keeper League - Draft = Wed, Mar 6 @ 10pm CT. Lock keepers ASAP.
Money system is fine. People like me just noobed it up. I'd never played fantasy baseball and had never used a money system for waivers. We all got a year under our belt now so it'll work better.
As for players for $, you're often trading a spare for $ to acquire another spare that is HOT. It's not like people are selling the good players. The $$$ dealing though again stemmed from not really knowing what the fuck was going on.
