Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode

Weekly works best for keeper leagues.

It allows you to keep guys on your bench that may gain value later.

Far more strategy involved I think too.

Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode

Should you play your stud who has 3 games, or your other guy who plays 5? Legit strategy involved.

Also, if we did switch to everyday, there should be a GP limit for each position of 82 like most baseball leagues. Bench guys for bad match ups, maybe play a bench guy on a stud bye in a good match up.

So why aren't we doing it in fantasy baseball? Is there less strategy involved there?

Our rosters are 20 deep, the 5 we have on our bench will be stashers at best, nobody is going to have anyone with legit value on their bench. So people will run with the same lineups every single week unless one of their guys only has a 2 game week or something.

Most NBA games are played on the same day with the exception of Thursdays and Tuesdays. So on a Wednesday when everyone is playing you have to make the decision of who to start in each position. It's no different the only difference is less control over your team, a completely useless waiver wire system and a likeness to Fantasy Football (which is an absolute garbage form of fantasy).

Meh, I can live with it. I just think it's a dumbed down casual aspect that makes this league worse. Set your lineups and autopilot for the rest of the week. Fun.

Do you have to set your lineups daily in the WS league?

Yes. It takes literally 2 minutes to set your lineup for the whole week.

Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode

Weekly lineups are really not that bad to be honest.

IMO, The only time weekly lineups backfire is when a players gets suspended or hurt in the beginning of the week and you're forced to play that guy the rest of the week despite the fact that he isn't playing. I would love if we were allowed to switch a player out if they got injured or suspended.

Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode

It was set to weekly in baseball and when you remade the league you changed it without a vote being done...

Our rosters are only 15, not 20.

Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode

You forget to set your lineups for the week. They're locked all week. Thursday rolls around and the guy you have on your bench is playing in a late game on TNT. You have room in your lineup for him but everything is locked so you can't do anything (yay being locked out from your team is fun). He scores 35 points and gets 19 assists. You lose the week by 18 assists and 34 points. You think "Man this league sure is FUN. I'm so glad we have that added STRATEGY and no control over our teams during the week! Well better set my lineup for next week so I can logout of ESPN/WF for a week and not give a fuck. Let me pick up this hot player off the waiver wire for $69. Oh wait the claim won't get processed until Tuesday so he's going to be on my bench all week and I can't move him into my lineup because the rosters are frozen. This in-depth strategy sure is fun and challenging!!!"

Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode

And just like you can forget to set your lineups for the week, you can forget to set your lineups daily.

And just like you can leave a guy on your bench and he scores 35 points and gets 19 assists and you lose by 18 assists and 34 points, that can happen as well if you set lineup your daily.
