Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode
It was Noah & Batum for Deng & Jonas Jerebko and I dropped Jerebko as soon as I acquired him and picked up Tayshaun Prince from the waiver wire. Which ended up being a good pickup cause Prince had a good 2nd half.
Deal really wasn't that lopsided at that time. Deng was putting up pretty good numbers and Batum was a backup. After the trade, Deng ended up getting hurt and his numbers declined, Noah had a strong 2nd half and the Blazers traded Wallace and made Batum the starter so of course his numbers increased.

Fantasy is math. Name value means nothing to me. People say DWIGHT and people explode OMG STUD STUD, I look at how it benefits my team and works with my categories.
I know how good Batum is. I had him last year and he STRONGLY contrubuted to my success.
Noah and Batum for Deng and I don't even remember was a STEAL. Strickly because no one gives Batum the respect as a fantasy contributor he deserves.
Blake contributes above average in 2 categories. Batum is better than him in 6 categories. Who's a better player? Blake, clearly. Fantasy is a different story. This is not a h2h points league, it's h2h categories.
I could go on all day with this.
I said last year mid year that Aidan would win. Why? He built a foundation of strong fantasy contributors. Did he have the most "stars" not really. Did he know how good his team was? I have no idea. No one agreed with me when I said it though.
Don't believe me if you want. I don't care. Like I said, we'll see where everyone is next year.

I knew. My team had Wade and Kobe as the big name stars. That's about it. I didn't have guys that dominated a category with exception to scoring. I never had any top guys fantasy wise. However, I had a team that covered every stat just enough to win every match except my first match. While fantasy stars are great to have, contributors in every category are better.
That and I got very lucky with Lin, Dragic, and Calderon after Chaucey's injury.

Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode
Batum was a strong contributor before the trade. Underrated contributor. He picked it up but I knew I valued him a lot more than you and I took advantage of that. Starter had nothing to do with it really. He was playing close to 30 a game before Wallace was traded.
I use algorithms straight up. I don't care about the player rater. It's not format specific...

Of course you valued him more than me. I traded Batum twice last season.

See you did have good fantasy players though. They just aren't household NBA names so they don't get the credit.

I have an offer of a Batum and a 12th for a 6th. Anyone want to up that offer or make one for George?

6th is a 1st round pick? Hmmm. Not terrible I guess.

What fucking idiot is offering that? Who the hell thinks that a guy who gets 14 & 5 per game is worth a 6th round pick? JESUS.

1 steal, 1 block, excellent 3 point production, and the scoring is bound to go up this year with the Blazers low on talent. Batum 4th round value last year so on par with Paul George. I guess it's a personal preference type of thing, but I think Batum caliber players will be going in round 6.

However DENG is still out there. I know someone wants the great talents of Luol DENG. I wonder if GA still wants him...

No thanks.

Batum was the 37th ranked player this year for our format, meaning 1st pick in the 4th round. Paul George 40th.

39th

This is dumb. Fantasy is math, but name value is incredibly important as well. You can talk up players and swindle others into bad trades if you have name value on your side.

Re: Fantasy Basketball - **WF Keeper League** - Off-season mode
Hahaha that was an awesome post GA. This is why I secretly love you.
I did say as well I would trade for Dwight in a heart beat, only to flip him immediately to some naive owner. I guess my secret is out now though.
