The Ultimate Fantasy King Season

Been talking to JM about this for a while, I am looking to establish this prestigious overall fantasy standings for a given year, with the winner being awarded the coveted Cossell and Stern Cup.

Posting this now so that we can establish minimums for league size and such, and talk about if predictions competitions count, or can just be their own division in the league.

I'm thinking right now, the cut off for leagues for a calender year is from the the after the SB to the next SB, so football is the last sport of the year, and stuff like basketball and hockey are the first recorded finished of the year.

I'm really not sure about the fantasy soccer league year or where it might fit in, but there is certainly time for discussion.

Also considering establishing OFFICIAL prediction threads for all upcoming seasons, where you pick the division winners, conference and over all champs, and select award winners in a competition setting.

Let me hear back on thoughts guys.

Re: The Ultimate Fantasy King Season

Only baseball titles should ever count. lmao @ all other fantasy sports.

You should give points on making the playoffs, the final 4, the title game, and winning a title. Winning a title isn't as important as consistently being in the playoffs. We play H2H leagues and those are very much up to luck in the playoffs.

Re: The Ultimate Fantasy King Season

Was thinking of just giving points based on final standings

So in a 14 team league, you get a 14/14 in a win percentage category as opposed to maybe a 6/6 in a smaller league.

IE: Say you finish 12/12, 6/8, 3/10, and 4/8, you finished 25/38 and had a 65% win percentage

A minimum number of leagues to qualify for the cup should be established of course.

I like that loser's bracket still gets points because that gives someone incentive to continue to do well instead of tank or not give a shit.

I'd probably still tank if it was an option...not intentionally lose but trade good stuff im not keeping for picks.

Well, tanking lowers your overall win percentage, but could also improve it in the next year in a keeper league

Re: The Ultimate Fantasy King Season

I really only play and care about football and baseball. Football has now just become the game I play when baseball isn't active. I don't care for hockey or basketball at all and something like this won't make me care more.

I'd still enter though if I met the min requirement playing only two fantasy sports.

Shouldn't be too hard to tabulate as the year goes along and seasons start and finish.

I only play baseball and football. But I'm interested in doing all four if given the chance. This might give me a slightly higher incentive to do so.
