Roman Reigns vs. Big Show (Last Man Standing Match)

A colossal rivalry between The World’s Largest Athlete and The Big Dog is about to turn extreme, as Roman Reigns prepares to battle Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match at Extreme Rules on Sunday, April 26.

The showdown between the fierce adversaries was truly born under hardcore circumstances. In the wake of WrestleMania 31, The Authority’s resident giant knocked the black-clad Superstar out cold – costing him a WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity in the process. Then, when WWE traveled across the pond to the U.K., he unleashed a vicious “automobile” assault on Reigns during Raw, chokeslamming him onto the hood of a vehicle that was situated on top of the entrance ramp. After being manhandled with such ease, many wonder how Reigns can possibly keep Big Show down for a 10-count.

Never count out The Big Dog, though; Reigns not only nearly conquered “Suplex City” when he battled Brock Lesnar on The Grandest Stage of Them All, but he also won the 2015 Royal Rumble Match and was named the 2014 Superstar of the Year. Even after his “auto incident” at London’s O2 Arena at the hands of his gigantic adversary, Reigns still had the heart and intestinal fortitude to stand up on his own accord. In order words, if Big Show thinks Reigns will be easy to overcome, he may be drastically underestimating his powerful opponent.

The Last Man Standing Match is one of the most brutal stipulations in the squared circle, requiring one Superstar to administer such a beatdown that his opponent cannot stand up to answer the count of 10. Some of the most intense rivalries in WWE have seen the brutality that comes with this particular bout. As such, perhaps there is no better way for Reigns and Big Show to slug out their differences.

Find out which Superstar will stand tall – and last – when Extreme Rules takes place live on WWE Network Sunday, April 26!

Re: So WWE are going to have Reigns v Big Show in front of a Chicago Crowd???

People who bash the crowds are clueless. If the crowd were given what they wanted then they wouldn't act the way they do. Don't blame the fans blame WWE.
That's like blaming the parents when a kid is throwing a tantrum.

"If the kids were given what they wanted then they wouldn't act the way they do. Don't blame the kids, blame parents."

:maury

Chi-Town are gonna ruin anything that ISN'T CM Punk related.

I'm a huge Reigns detractor but we really have people nitpicking his effort tonight? :lol You guys have to Reign it in. Dump on him when it's applicable. He's being slowly built up and (hopefully) will be given the rest of the year to improve in the upper midcard. He also looks a lot more comfortable out there now that he's not in the deep end. Less pressure and the audience is being given a chance to familiarize themselves with him.

He is their guy, so whether or not you like him, you have to come to terms with the fact he's going to be given the ball soon. For the sake of the product, I hope he improves enough to carry that burden and he's certainly making strides. Will he sustain that spot when give it? Only time will tell.

But he's improving and winning fans over, which is all he can do at this point. When he's prepared on the mic and the fans are behind him, they'll pull the trigger. He's finally getting an organic build and slow burn, and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Re: So WWE are going to have Reigns v Big Show in front of a Chicago Crowd???

If WWE had any mercy, the match would legit be only 3 minutes of Roman beating the fuck out of Big Show and retiring him. Or at least putting him kayfabe out for a few months :cry
Agreed with this. Make it short and sweet so the crowd won't really have time to hijack it or whatever.

i'm so sick of Chicago

wwe runs that city waay too much and it drives me insane.

i get why they do it cus they always sell out but i hate those fans with a passion. They're all massive marks for themselves, they'll never be New York tho no matter how hard they try.

no offense to the windy city natives on here

Re: What have we learned tonight?

Fans desperately trying to convince themselves that they didn't enjoy Reigns matches :lol fpalm

Fans complaining about 'John Cena booking' in a fucking last man standing match :lmao fpalm
Why would I have to convince myself? I was bored through out and didn't enjoy it, especially knowing exactly how it would end just like Cena/Rusev. Think you need to stop expecting people to gush over bad matches just because the WWE match quality tends to be as bad or worse anyway.

I like how people said that Chicago would shit on this match and boo at Reigns for the enitre match. Sorry guys, even the Chicago crowd can get into a Reigns/Show match.

A section of the fans kept trying to boo Reigns in between cheering/popping for his moves. Shit was comically sad TBH.

Ok. At this point, any of you who still wanna thumb your noses up at this match just need to quit it & get a life. Like, are you really this desperate to make it seem not all that when it really was great? Reigns wrestled a better match out of Show than anyone has in a long time. I don't see why some of you still feel the need to shit on it. This match was better than the main event, but some of you are still more spiteful towards this one. Why? What are you trying to prove?

But then again, none of the "such & such carried Reigns" lies have started yet, so I guess that's progress.

And stop with the "but's". It was a good match. No "but's". Any other wrestler who puts on as great of PPV's as Reigns never gets near this amount of shit, whether it's outright or low key. It was a very good match. End of story.

How about no... It was slow, boring, and predictable. It was the typical Cena style LMS. You can rant and scream that people need to accept mediocrity as greatness, but I won't.

Re: Suprised by Roman Reigns/Big Show

Yeah i enjoyed the match and i think that anyone who can have a nice last standing match with the Big Show at least deserves some credit.

I mean, i'm not saying it was the greatest technical match ever, but it was a fun match, with Reigns playing his role well, selling like a boss and doing some sick spears.

The match was somehow entertaining and the crowd was into it, what else you can ask of the guy? IT WAS THE FUCKING BIG SHOW.

Re: Suprised by Roman Reigns/Big Show

I thought it was great.

The chokeslam on Reigns through the tables outside was badass but Reigns should have put the announce table on top of Show right after the spear instead of having him get up afterwards.

I'm glad the crowd didn't shit on the match and gave the guys respect at the end. They deserved it.

To anyone trashing the Chicago crowd, fuck off.

I am going again. I am somewhat of a smark, but once again I am taking my eight year old nephew. I'll cheer Cena with him, but even at the same time, he likes to sing the "Cena Sucks" lyrics during his walk out.

Chicago crowds are awesome.

Re: What have we learned tonight?

It was a great match, fuck anyone who says otherwise. Just idiots who can't accept that the guy they chose to hate is getting better and better.
They just chose to hate him. You could put steve austin in his skin and have him entertain like stone cold used to and these people would still hate him. It is like a hobby for them. Haters gonna hate.

That's three really good matches that Reigns has had in three consecutive PPVs (I'd even argue 3 match of the nights in a row). :draper2

Also a little thing that I LOVED from the Big Show was at the beginning when he put his fist through the table that Reigns set up and then broke the kendo stick in half instead of using them against Reigns. Fans want to see weapons used in LMS match? Angry giant breaks them in half so they can't be used - Classic heel work.

I liked Big Show breaking the kendo stick too and then breaking the table. :lol The small things added to it.

It was also funny when Big Show mocked Roman doing a spear and the OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I think he even got a "You've still got it" chant.
