CM Jobber
No I'm not talking about the poster on WF. I'm talking about how much sense it makes to job Punk repeatedly and to the likes of the Miz. If they are building this guy up for a potential title run then they are doing horrible. Then you have the pointless chance of Punk and Kane winning the tag titles. This would lower both of them, unless they are setting Punk up for a ECW championship run, which is stupid.
I've narrowed this weird booking to a few possibilities that make sense (too bad the WWE booking team doesn't use common sense):
1. They are setting Punk up for an ECW title run, which would basically be a demotion
2. They have nothing to do with Punk and waiting for a draft to send him to Raw, which would explain the lack of storyline, but not the jobbing.
3. Punk will drop the briefcase (probably to Jeff Hardy).
4. They are setting Punk up for a major heel turn and are biding time.
5. Then we have my dream scenario, where Punk feuds with Hardy over the briefcase on Raw and turns heel on Hardy, bashing his suspension and druggie lifestyle.
All of these possibilities probably won't happen because WWE has bad booking and will most likely make Punk a tag champ with Kane.

Re: CM Jobber
How is Punk becoming tag champion with the ECW champion a demotion?

Re: CM Jobber
Honestly, I think they are waiting until the late fall or winter for him to cash in it or they are going to have Jeff win in from him. I don't think it's that big of a deal really.
Punk in WWE reminds me soooooo much of Rob Van Dam.
In ECW, RVD was great and had alot more of a risk-taking and reckless wrestling style.
He got to talk all the time about 4:20 and shit like "I never said I was the showstopper, I'm the whole fucking show". Then he came to WWE, and He never got to say anything except like "Dude" and Whatever" and his matches were always weird to me like he had a hard time adjusting to the WWE Style.
I think CM Punk is the exact same way. In ROH, He was great on the mic and talked all the time. Now all he gets to say is "I'm straightedge" and his matches are strange like he isn't adjusting very good to the WWE Style either.

Re: CM Jobber
That's just it. They aren't building Punk to be a mainstream champion. And he shouldn't be. He just isn't ready for THAT type of push yet.

MITB is supposed to build you up to main event status. Making you the tag team champion in a division with little competition with a mid-card title holder keeps you at that level.

Call me a blind mark all you want but thats what I see happening. I dont see why they would make Punk seem so weak if they were going to push him to the Main Event.
Lets take a look
This week:
Jeff Hardy gets a clean pinfall on Umaga
CM Punk loses cleanly to the Miz
If they are planning something big for Punk they are doing a terrible job

Re: CM Jobber
I don't think Punk is suffering from bad booking really I mean consider this, bad booking for Punk is good booking for someone else. Y2J needed cred back after losing MITB, Regal had an easy ride to the finals while Punk had a harder time, Edge needed momentum going into Backlash and is higher on the card than Punk and Miz needed a singles win.
I do think Punk is in limbo (waiting for the draft) and there's really nothing else for him to do, teaming with Kane is actually a step back for him but at the same time Miz/Morrison feuding with the ECW champ and Mr MITB is a step up for them and I'm sure once this is done with Punk will get put over by someone (possibly by MnM this sunday)

Re: CM Jobber
Punk likely becoming tag champs Sunday with Kane isn't really a demotion however it does nothing for his money in the bank status unless it eventually builds up to Punk turning on Kane and cashing in his title contract to take the title from Kane. Basically Punk's Money in The Bank reign is going to be a huge waste if does not either turn on Kane or move to another brand. They are the only possible reasons for Punk being where he is right now. The most likely idea is that Punk will turn on Kane and catch him off guard to win back the ECW title. This would establish Punk as a big heel (which he will greatly benefit from) and also allow him to successfully cash in his money in the bank contract which continues the importance of the contract. I know a lot of people will say that if Punk uses the money in the bank contract to regain the ECW title it would be a waste. But does anyone really expect WWE to put Punk over the likes of HHH/Orton/Cena/Taker/Edge? I sure as hell don't especially when they've booked him to lose to people like the Miz. You have to believe WWE wants to continue the success rate of the money in the bank winner so that the gimmick remains relevant but at the same time they obviously are in no hurry to put Punk over the top dogs quite yet. Which means Punk going back after the ECW title is what makes most sense right now. Whatever the case I definently agree that Punk appears to be lost with inconsistent booking ever since winning Money In The Bank. Some nights he's made to look very strong and on other nights like this week's ECW he's made to look very week. Not exactly the kind of push I would expect for a Money In The Bank winner, but perhaps his "title push" has yet to begin.

It's still to early to tell, he only won it 2 months ago. If this was happening 6 months later, then you'd have a case.
Technically he's not jobbing. He's not picking up consecutive losses week in week out and I don't think he's lost a match clean on ECW since losing to Chavo a couple months back if I'm right.
I guess the rule here is MITB doesn't = an immediate push. He's still pretty much in the same position he was in before he got the briefcase, so my guess is they're milking as much as they can from him before slowly moving him up the card. You could say they're aiming to be very careful with Punk and not push him too soon to prevent a possible fan backlash. There's quite a few wrestlers in the mid card who are arguably more over than Punk is at the moment.
It's still only 2 months in, so patience is a key.
