Re: CM Jobber
I agree he's not that type of guy right now I'm not even saying that myself. I look at Punk as somewhat as a pet project by WWE who they are gonna look at in the long run not the go ahead and push him to the moon like Brock or whatever. As far as him getting too much credit it happens everytime a "IWC" fav comes on to the scene. And atm he actually isn't having the ammount of fans on this board as he had the first time. Why? Because he actually "made it" and the minute that happened people on here turned on him because it is an unwritten rule I suppose that once a guy gets pushed they can't like him anymore. Hence why Shelton has a bunch of people on his dick on this board because he has yet to get THE push people have been wanting. Actually I'd rather he not get the mega push at least not right now which is why I kinda don't mind how he is being pushed now. Because if you get pushed too fast what else do you have left to do? See WWE Gail Kim, Brock Lesnar and even The Rock for examples.
So yeah I see your point in that case if this was about a year or so ago. But now Punk is just like anybody else they (as in net fans) pushed for which is that he still has his fans, but now he has his equal ammount of non supporters or haters.

Re: CM Jobber
No one is interested in Punk. That is, they don't really want to protect him. He was clearly "Plan B" when it came to MITB. Jeff should get the briefcase any day now

So everybody else should put over Punk while he does nothing for them? Would Regal be where he is now if not for beating Punk? The Palumbo thing I agree with you on, because that was not only a senseless matchup but also a senseless win. But point in case, Punk is already fairly over, and having him job to a few people doesn't kill anybody. He's probably going to win a legit (not ECW) World Title anyway. People are going to like that he's a realistic human being that isn't victorious in everything he comes across.

He strikes me as somewhat of a Chris Jericho....someone who could one day get a respect run, but ultimately, will always be an upper midcarder.

Seriously, if he can get solid matches in 5-10 min with people who aren't good in the ring, imagine what he can do with a 30 minute match with a main eventer. Also you saying his ROH work wasn't impressive is laughable, he had a ***** match in ROH and constantly pumped out ****+ matches. He also got a mic in ROH (unlike the WWE who can't use Punk right) and when he is given freedom on the mic he is great.

Re: CM Jobber
Wow, an entire thread devoted to a WF poster.
And yeah, if this doesn't result in a heel turn....

Re: CM Jobber
He is a great wrestler like many others in the WWE but doesnt get pushed like he should. Personally i hope he turns heel and moves to Raw, him in a big PPV match against somebody like Shawn Micheals or HHH. That could create awesome matchs. Wouldnt mind seeing him get a 30 minute iron man match against Shelton either

Re: CM Jobber
WWE is really being careful with CM Punk IMO. He is a great wrestler, he is great on the mic (hasn't shown it on WWE TV yet) and he IS the future. They don't want to push him to the moon like John Cena with it backfiring in their face and CM Punk being boo'd. They will gradually push him.

1. His ROH stuff was pretty good, better than his WWE work for sure, but not as Godly as some people on this board would say.
2. Just b/c Dave Meltzer says Punk had a 5 star match than it's law? Whatever. Punk/Joe bored the hell out of me until the climax.

True.
Meltzer has no credibility left with me in terms of his match ratings. He pissed all over HBK/Flair at WM 24. That match was easily one of the best of that I've seen.
