Re: DC universe cartoons thoughts

so you dont think Reed Richards and tony stark trying to destroy their best friends and allies is at all out of character?

and yeah, it was basically attacking the idea of superhero comics. it was basically saying "THESE MEN WEAR MASKS, HOW CAN WE TRUST THEN, SUPERHEROES DESTROY SOCIETY, WE NEED ACCOUNTABILITY AND REGULATION"

and thats just fucking absurd. you cant apply the idea of superheroes on real life because all you end up with is Watchmen or Irredeamable. A deconstruction of the genre. an exposure of how dangerous, and how batshit insane these 'heroes' must be and how scary it is to live around them. If anything it just makes you dislike the characters and the idea of comic book superheroes

I'm sorry you had to read such crap starting out. You at least read Flashpoint: Batman right?

Also, it seems you've stuck to mostly events and for some reason the GA/GL BatB. Here are some others I highly recommend you checking out:

All-Star Superman

Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps War

Batman: The Black Mirror
I personally liked flashpoint and civil war. Thanks for the recommendations I will check them out

EDIT: do you have any recommendations for Martian Manhunter, Flash, and Nightwing?

Well that could've been toned down, I agree. Don't think they should've outright went on murder, but conflict isn't bad.

The government in storyline was attacking the idea of superheroes, not superhero comics. It's not like they could pretend that there wasn't anti-superhero sentiment. On top of that Registration or the government wanting to control superheroes has been gone greatly before in terms of storylines.

Re: DC universe cartoons thoughts

Yeah I'm not seeing what's wrong with there being a Registration Act storyline in comics. The 2nd season of JLU revolved around a similar storyline to that.

Re: DC universe cartoons thoughts

Why would these people need to fight for their country? Isn't just stopping octopusses, scorpions, lizards, vultures, and rhinos in NYC enough of a job?

Re: DC universe cartoons thoughts

The SHRA didn't say they needed to fight for their country, it just mean they had to be under supervision and direct control of their country a.k.a. matters had to be in the government's hands.

Re: DC universe cartoons thoughts

I'll be honest with you. 1-7 (the main storyline) was all I read.
