Re: Dexter Season- 8 . TV Series Discussion.
I've been enjoying this season so far, not as much as seasons 1,2,4 and 7, but definitely more than 3 and 5, and 6 which I found to be borderline utter shit.
Vogel has been one of the more interesting side characters to me since Lundy, and the woman portraying her is doing an excellent job. Deb is continuing her momentum as a tremendously improved character fighting with her inner turmoil. Not sure I care too much about the Sgt sub-plot, or Masuka's reunion since both come across as filler that might not tie in much to the show's conclusion. The Quinn/Battista dynamic is good, but it's not something that's been sucking me in.
Season 8 has been mostly slow buildup thus far, nothing too crazy has happened aside from Deb's murder attempt, but then again that's not the first season which was structured this way. I'm expecting Hannah's return to play heavily on Dexter's mind, but ultimately the final payoff will likely involve Vogel as her true motivations become clearer, and Deb should play a huge role in that too. In the end, Dex HAS to be the cause for his own downfall (perhaps sacrificing himself for the one he loves?), which would be tragic at a time where he sorta redeemed himself and is just now discovering that he isn't truly a Psychopath.
Fully expect the show to really pick up the pace going forward as all the pieces seem to be put in place.
