Re: General Movie Discussion Part III

Since the Three Flavours Cornetto/Blood and Ice Cream trilogy is finishing up soon with The World's End, what does everyone prefer out of Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz? Always seems to split opinion. I'll go with Shaun Of The Dead but it's close.

HOT FUZZ in a landslide. Yet I adore Shaun of the Dead much of the same. There just is a whole different that Hot Fuzz reached for me.

Dug Paul a lot too.

Really close for me as well, but I'll go for Shaun of the Dead. But I do love Timothy Dalton in Hot Fuzz, great character.

Sean of the Dead by a mile, though tbh Id sooner rewatch all of Spaced than either of them, plot for the new one seems to be about an epic pub crawl, and Paddy Considine is in it, cant fail.

I remember when The Worlds End and the Seth Rogen film about the end of the world were first announced, pretty much at the same time, only one caught my interest: AN EPIC PUB CRAWL!

Shaun Of The Dead. Brilliant every time (not that Hot Fuzz isn't). The cast for their new movie is insanely good.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part III

been reading up on the career of Ray Harryhausen who died yesterday, definitely a real innovator/maverick in the field of special effects and especially stop motion

a good selection of his work

Loved Ray Harryhausen and the movies that he worked on. Would always watch them on a Saturday afternoon as a kid and just marveled at the work that he did. I've always loved Stop Motion animation, it would always bring a certain charm to a movie that I feel GCI never could.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part III

I think Hot Fuzz taking the best spin on a action flick is what spawned me to think so highly of it. I normally don't like many; I love tons of zombie flicks so Shaun of the Dead was a drop in the bucket of brilliance where as Hot Fuzz was a come from nowhere slap in the face level of grandeur.
