Never watched, doesn't count :bateman

Look at Bale's line up for this and next year at IMDb. Simply beautiful.

Sorry el blargo.

Well people have been bitterly disappointed because they expected another Drive. Apparently its nothing like it and is more of a Valhalla Rising or Fear X type of moody atmospheric art house flick.

No but I'm watching it this weekend to get me in the mood for OGF . I'm fairly certain I'll like it.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part III

Cool, it's really atmospheric like Drive in a way, but slightly less plot-driven. It's divided opinions from what I've seen but even if you don't like it, it will provoke a discussion for sure.

Saw it two weeks ago, and is great. I will put it in between the other two. And Blarg: you really need to see it, is a sort of Rohmer series more than a typical Linklater movie.

And blah Only God Forgives, i been reading comentaries of people i trust that say the movie is Shit.

Only God will forgive the wrath bestowed upon this thread.

eh, it's not like all of his films are skippable. Waking Life had interesting moments despite (for the most part) being a pretentious reel of random anecdotes on surface level science/philosophy more than an actual movie. As a filmmaker, Linklater's style never impressed me in the slightest, and his rotoscoping technique is nauseating. I'll take your word that this isn't his standard fare, might check it out once there's an official release.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part III

Blarg did you see my review of Before Midnight? Because I fucking adored it to an unhealthy degree. You really must see the other two first though. The whole trilogy is fantastic but man this new one was something else. Felt really special to me honestly.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part III

I don't think i've stumbled on your review. :/ Sometimes I purposely stay away from reviews to avoid spoilers, but I usually read yours since you're careful with that.

I'll check out the other two movies that ABH mentioned in his post about it once I return from Italy, seems like something universally loved ITT.
