Re: Is Heath Ledger's death one of the reasons for success of Dark Knight?
Its a hard question to answer, really hard question. You can ge two answers:
1) Yes, Heath Ledger death is one of the main reason for the TDK success.
2) No, TDK would of been succesful regardless of the death of Heath Ledger or not.
Honestly? I believe Heath Ledger definetly did gain global exposure, that everyon knew how huge this role was - and obviously for a huge blockbuster film like The Dark Knight, to have one of the worlds top A-listers tragically die then I am sure his death definetly gained that global exposure where everyone was interested in seeing how the film would be.
Once it came out though, regardless of his death - it would of still been a hit. The way he played The Joker was tremendous, almost unimaginable how Heath Ledger transformed this character from the days of Jack Nicholson into this dark twisted take. Very very good.
