I'm much more of a visual guy, and I read through books too fast to enjoy them as much as TV.

I read the books after I watched Season 1, and I have to say, it really helped me having watched it before.
Even though I knew, what's happening at the beginning it was rather hard to differentiate the assload of people and storylines in there, I think I would have stopped if I had not had that "guidance" into GoT. No problem after a few hundred pages, when you get the "big picture", but there were still some "now who the fuck is that?" moments, when new (or formerly unimportant side-show characters) emerged

And I agree, I'm glad I read the rest before watching Season 2, but i have to say, it is a damn good conversion from book to television

They also can film faster than GRRM can write.

I do read the books but I'm just not a fan of reading, it's tedious, not to mention I'm far more of a visual/audio person. Reading just doesn't have the same effect, that's why I'm still only on the back end of Feast despite spending like the last year reading the book.

It's ok to slow read his books. He's a way slower writer.

I don't slow read the books on purpose though, I'd love to speed run through the story, I just don't enjoy reading. I prefer the show because even though it's not as intricate in detail as the books (for an idiot like me that kinda helps as well ~_~), it's not a chore to just sit down and plow through an episode like it is a chapter. Some of these chapters just WILL NOT end, and especially if it's a character I don't like, like Bran, the show at least quickly goes into 2 or 3 other things, whereas in the books I have to process this story I don't like.

Har har. I go outside plenty.

And really, you use complete sunlight in your house instead of lightbulbs? Do you have a roof by any chance?
