It took me embarrassingly long to work out from context (of the show) the whole shebang with Bastard names. Any time Jon said his name and someone said "Ah, a bastard from the north", I kept assuming they knew he was Ned's bastard by reputation or something. Blush.

That's why I asked. I don't think that was addressed on the show. Or maybe it was, and I missed it.

I'm not sure if they addressed it or not on the show? I think Jon Snow brought it up to Ygritte early on but not sure.

And I was just giving you shit. Didn't mean anything by it.

These are the words of a person who knows about her weakness imo, the last line doesn't mean she's not weak cause she have love for her childrens only, it means the love for her children is her weakness.
I think, it's more an excuse on her part than a wisdom. She is emotionally damaged and has a huge inferiority complex.

Since Cersei is too weak to change herself, she settled to be extremely loyal towards some (Tywin, Jaime, her kids) and completely merciless to the rest. The "love" she speaks of is rather the last positive piece of her broken inner emotional cosmos. She combines it with her addiction for approval and reflects on the few people she is loyal to (the only ones she even considers worth living). Well. Except for Tywin, who she would love, but who forbids all his children to show him love.

It's interesting. When Jaime told Cersei those "beautifully romantic" words about killing everyone until they are the only 2 persons left, he kinda reflected Cersei more than his own feelings. He's much more complex. But he's devoted to her and follows her screwed-up philosophy.

I remember it was mentioned at least once, more likely twice. But with so many surrounding details, characters and side stories it's easy to miss.

They must've addressed it at some point. Maybe I should watch the first season again.

I didn't have any trouble picking up that their were regional bastards before I read the books. Maybe because the name "Snow" is kind of a dead giveaway.

No I did not. I'm not no SNITCH.

Did they actually call Ramsay by Snow? I think he called himself a Bolton, and that's all we've heard on the show.

Signature of the dick in a box letter

" - Ramsay Snow, natural born son of Roose Bolton. Lord of the Dreadfort, and Warden of the North".

Which infuriated me because Ramsay hates being a bastard and considers himself true born even though he's not.

His true name is Ramsey Snow since hes Bolton's bastard, he get pretty pissed off when people remind him hes a bastard so he started calling himself 'Bolton'. They've changed bits about him in the show so maybe they're just overlooking that.

I don't mind what he's doing to Theon. Theon is a punk ass bitch, and deserves it.
