So in other words she's not a female version of Tywin at all.

That's like saying Stannis is exactly like Robert, but without being fat, a drunk, a womanizer, an all around hedonist, or a lazy prick who hated doing the work his job entailed. If you take away everything that defines a character then the relation still doesn't mean they're similar.

Cersei likes to think she could be Tywin though, and that the only thing holding her back is being a woman. She's wrong, obviously, as she simply isn't that good.

She can want to be like him all she wants, but she's not. At the end of the day it's the same. She's an idiot and he's extremely clever and efficient.

King Robb would have given Theon a clean death. That's what he deserves. Not Ramsey's brand of games.

I sympathize with him because of everything that led to his insane path. Theon was always a kid who never felt that he belonged anywhere. He was taken away from his home and his family when he was only 10 years old, lived the next 9 years with the Starks, strangers to him, and no matter how they treated him, he was always out of place. He never felt like he was a part of their family, no matter how much they treated him well, in the end he was just a ward, a prisoner to them because of his father's actions, not his. And then, when he finally returns to the Iron Islands, when he could finally feel what was to belong somewhere, he was just treated very poorly by his father like it was Theon's fault that he had to spend the last 9 years away from home. At this point, he just had to prove himself to his father in order to be noticed, in order to be appreciated, to be loved, to be recognized. The rest is history....

Take into consideration that all of this happened between his 10-19 years old, one of the most difficult, troublesome and important periods in any person's life.

This is why Theon is one of my favorites alongside Jaime, due to their complexity and tragic personas.
Feel like a bit simple asking this but what was the reasoning in the Starks taking Theon? I know they've explained in the show but I've never quite grasped it. Was it as punishment to the Greyjoys? Was it to protect Theon? They kept calling him a prisoner, why's that?

The Starks keeping Theon as a ward is to keep Balon Greyjoy in line - On the surface it's as if Theon is just a ward the same way Ned & Robert were fostered by Jon Arryn etc, but Theon's presence at Winterfell is to warn the Iron Islands off of trying any of their old rebellious bullshit.

Edit to add: I think Theon is one of the most fascinating and sympathetic charaters in the series. It's remarkable how very, very misguided and flat wrong all of his actions have been, yet you can fully understand his reasoning and the fucked up ways that his upbringing have warped his mind that would lead him down his path. His torture is way OTT for his crimes. Knowing GRRM too, Ramsay will never get a cathartic death, will probably run off into the sunset with riches and women while another Stark gets drowned in acid or some shit

Yeah Theon's done some shitty things but I get why hes done it. He just wants the one thing he's never truly had, a feeling of family and a feeling of having a place he belongs.

This is exactly why I love her character, with all her power she never stops to be someone else pawn and she's always a loser at life. (and she somewhat realizes it)
This makes for an interesting character in my opinion.

The character i like the less is Ramsay, he's sick and cruel, bottom line. there is really nothing more interesting about this character.
)speaking about the character only, the actor is pretty awesome thought)
