Always Sunny
Spoiler for Season5:
Stellar season again. Still peaking at Season 3 for me so far. Another season without a bad episode though. SI summed it up nicely. Middle of the seasons tend to drop off a little with the seasons peaking in the first and last few episodes. The Gang invading the rival bar after 10 years and wrecking havoc had me in stitches. Charlie being a "full on rapist" and the date in general was magnificent. Best episode is a toss up between "The D.E.N.N.I.S system", "The Gang Reignites The Rivalry" and "The Gang Hits The Road". Constantly delivering still.

Spoiler for Season 5:
Concur with your thoughts about Season 3 still being the peak of the show. Not a knock on 4 & 5, merely a demonstration of the quality 3 produced. The Gang wrecking havoc on the bar was up there with Extreme Makeover in terms of them showering unsuspecting people with their antics. The cutaway to Dennis pissing in the bar . 'D.E.N.N.I.S System' was the best for me. The look on his face to the camera when reciting his steps to charming a woman, the way Frank in particular seemed to struggle to grasp the concept behind his theory and the way he'd randomly pop up at the Fair attacking Charlie & co for hopelessly struggling to decipher the system.

Spoiler for Season 6:
Again a particularly strong season. Best episodes were 'The Gang buys a boat', 'Dee Reynolds: Shaping America's Youth' & 'The Gang gets a new member'. Dee Shaping America's Youth wins for the Lethal Weapon 5 film Charlie, Frank, Dennis & Mac create for Dee's class. Mac in blackface and them switching roles halfway through the film as well as making up for Frank being too cheap to provide green screen for anyone but himself was amazing. Boat episode was great for splitting the gang into their respective groups and seeing how Frank, Dee & Charlie between them could foil the plans of Dennis & Mac to socialise with upper class people. Mac & Dennis dicussing Dennis' sinister talk of women being forced to sleep with him since they couldn't get off the boat was amazing.

'Who Got Dee Pregnant' & 'Dee Gives Birth' were fun episodes, especially loved the developing story and different recollections from Halloween where Dee supposedly got pregnant and them tracking down her ex partners to try and assess who the father was. Ending reveal was expected given the tone of the show but I loved how once again the best layed plans of the gang were foiled by another member of the gang without them even realising. Christmas special episode was hysterical for Charlie discovering the true meaning of the Santas who came to his house on Christmas morning. His meltdown when seeing Santa at the Mall and subsequent anger was incredible. Loved the flashback of Little Charlie getting high on sniffing glue.

I watched the first two episodes of season 4 of community and so far it is kinda disapointing. I don't know if that has something to do with me watching a lot of Archer lately which is obviously extremly awesome. :draper

Finally got around to checking out the respective Pilots for two of WOOLCOCK's recommendations. Got a feel for the humor of both, and I don't know which show i'll start off with. They're both interesting for different reasons, and equally engaging. Apparently Parks and Rec developes into a beast, but i'm also feeling the charm of Community. Community is much more accessible, but i'm also a sucker for the more subtle, sharper and slightly darker humor that Park and Rec seems to draw inspiration from. Here's my review for both:

Spoiler for Parks and Rec Pilot:

Park and Recs episode 1, I could instantly grasp this show's charm even knowing that it fleshes itself out better with subsequent episodes. Based on one episode, I can tell that each episodes will be connected and meant to be followed linearly unlike the Seinfeld "pick any episode" formula. Reminded me of the Office UK right off the bat with the talking head Documentary approach, and the delivery of the humor is also very similar.

The overzealous Leslie is already a character they can play off of in countless different scenarios, and the girl that plays her already has the facial expressions down pat. She's clearly coming across as borderline mentally ill, but if it's a show meant to be far fetched like "Always Sunny" then that may not be too much to be looking into.

Swanson is by far the most interesting character , his "I don't give a fuck" cynicism and shady allure is brilliantly incarnated by Nick Offerman. From comparing his business model to Chuck E. Cheese to affirming his absolute obnoxiousness by giving the camera THAT LOOK as he throws Lesie's Pit photos in the trash just an instantly likeable character who leaves an exclamation mark at the end of the episode with his Will Arnett-esque adulation of the Bob Knight portrait in the office, leaving you wanting to see more of this guy.

The Ann and Tom characters did nothing for me so far, but i'm sure i'll get used to them as time goes on. I did get a chuckle from Tom's derailing of the Pit issue by tangentially flirting with Rashida.

That brings me to the humor delivery. It didn't make me laugh at every turn, but I did enjoy some of the lines like at the Community complaints where the guy talks about the head of the Police being a 9th degree Mason. Definitely my type of humor , and I can see them building off of that as time goes on. The pacing is good, the delivery is good, and the Swanson character is perfect.

Spoiler for Community Pilot:
Right off the bat, this seems more snappy than some of my favorite comedies, but less poignant. Comes across like a typical American sitcom reminiscent of the IT Crowd, only with better production, a more interesting cast and the dialogue is a bit more clever. The bombastic and juvenile feel of the show is something I need to get used to after being spoiled by shows like Arrested Developement and Always Sunny, but it shouldn't be a very difficult adjustment. Despite this, I was thoroughly entertained.

Episode's high point was Jeff's motivational speech to the Community trying to win favors with Britta. Little things throughout that made me laugh such as the line "We can give Ben Affleck an Oscar" , Pierce's "The Dalai Lama and I..." line after Jeff talks about the need for his wisdom, or even the stabs at Michael Douglas are great touches that help balance out the slapstick, and it's nice to know they're not afraid to reference well known people and take shots at them. Little things like Pierce telling Jeff "You remind me of me when I was your age" and Jeff responding with "Well, guess I deserve that" gave me a good laugh.

The characters are varied, everyone seems comfortable in their roles and that could make for a very entertaining dynamic. Jeff is already showing signs of being a self-conceited prick 'ala Dennis Reynolds, but he's also very smart, and it's fun to listen to his nuggets of wisdom even if he's being deceptive. His romantic link to Britta is an interesting storyarc in and of itself, and her "easy going yet tough nut to crack" personality makes it fun to see where this will lead. Ana seems to be the most charismatic of the bunch, and I can tell she'll be a force to be reckoned with based on the cult following she has garnered out of all the characters.

It was a nice touch to end the episode with a John Hughes homage by playing a rendition of the Breakfast Club theme song. Definitely looking forward to more.

Hey Blarg, you should keep with Parks and Rec just now, invest in Parks before Community, it gets better and better, steadily and consistently, season to season, especially with there only being a little amount of episodes in season 1, the incentive is there to get on to season 2.

One of my favorite shows.
