PARKS was great again. Wouldn't say it's one of the best of the season but that's not intended as a knock on it. Perd's movie review had me in stitches, as did Chris' uterus line and Jerry's speech. Chris has been such a great character this season. Loved his and Ben's reactions to Mona Lisa's waxing. Not sold on her. Small doses should be fine though.

Ahh, I adored it. The thing with Parks this season is there's so many episodes that stand out that come the end of the season this might easily be overtaken by the remaining episodes or even past episodes such as the Woodwork Awards Ceremony. I didn't think that episode would be bettered after I first saw it but I was wrong.

Loved how this was entirely centred on Pawnee this week and gave us another glimpse into the town and its people. I think I was just really impressed with how they presented the Leslie/Ron disagreement in such a natural way shortly after the wedding. Everything was tastefully handled and delivered superbly and all the characters shone. Ann/April had both in their best element with Ann trying to win April's friendship and April being her cagey and defensive best. Chris/Tom gave us a glimpse of Tom being the loveable little child (loved his reaction to Chris complimenting his tummy) and of course, Leslie/Ron was really good.

Really liked Dennis as well. His reaction to the suggestion of Michael Bay films was top notch and they delivered a great satire of pretentious arthouse enthusiasts without going overboard. I see your point re. Mona Lisa. But I have a feeling she'll be a short stay and used to further develop Tom as a more mature individual this season when he realises she's not good for him and he needs to be someone he actually likes and enjoys spending time with.

What I love though this season is they're nailing the balance between comedy, character development and genuine emotion. Between the consistent strong writing, characters getting chances to shine every episode and the character development there's so many episodes that can stand out as being amongst the best this season for a variety of reasons.

Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

I thought I'd post these as I know some people would be interested - Gervais and specifically The Office UK fans - these were specials as part of Comic Relief a 25 year running BBC/UK charity, which has a 'Comic Relief' telethon every 2 years, relating to 'TV show thread': Last night the money raised during the duration of the show was 75.1 million, from the British public, that isn't a whole total as more fundraising goes on off TV, both before and after, and totals have to be made and calculated, Comic Relief has raised almost a billion in it's existence, and 'helps' people in the UK and Africa.

Also to mention, Ricky Gervais like he done with his new series 'Derek' (which Netflix bought the rights for exclusively - except for the UK, where a network has it) has entered into an agreement with YouTube, he has said that he feels digital and multi platforms of (specifically) TV is very important, and so being paid by Google, and as shown with Netflixs deal, he was looking forward to providing exclusive YouTube content, through his official channel - the channel the following videos are uploaded by - such as 'revisiting' his characters, and other material/work he wants to do, such as these videos which were pf this style between uploading to YouTube and the Comic Relief airing:

Parks might be the only show where I laugh at every character.

Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

Always Sunny Season 4
Spoiler for s4:
Not as good as Season 3 I thought but probably peaked higher. 2nd episode is still my favourite episode of the series so far. "Paddy's Bar: The Worst In America", "Extreme Home Makeover" and "Nightman Cometh" were the other highlights. The home invasion in "Extreme Home Makeover" had me in stitches. The history episode is definitely the low point of the series but I didn't think it was bad. I'm glad SI warned me to lower my expectations for that episode though so maybe that helped me enjoy it more for what it was. Dee gags were funny and it was a nice Cricket cameo too. "Mac Bangs The Waitress" was the other episode I wasn't really feeling. Felt kinda off and dragged a bit. No Dee and Frank in an episode felt strange too.

Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

Spoiler for Season 4:
Yeah I mentioned it but the Home Invasion was one of my favourite things they've done. Just so idiotic and senseless but they're so transfixed on doing a good deed they can't see how the family in interpreting the situation. Mac asking the guy where his wife was had me in stitched because you knew he was being sincere but it was such a movie cliche and seeing the guy petrified and worried about his wife was just too funny. 'Mac bangs the waitress' I enjoyed moreso for Dennis & his obsession with befriending Charlie. I do love how the characters get obsessed over something so trivial in one episode & how far that desperation takes them. Dennis pitifully trying to have a conversation with a disinterested Charlie and the damn movie villain esque look on his face when he invites Charlie into his room slayed me. Wouldn't disagree though that outside of that the episode was lacking compared to the others.

No mention for Mac's reaction to discovering a turd in the bed? That was absolutely priceless.

Spoiler for Season 5:
Better than Season 4 marginally I'd say, though a couple of less than stellar episodes such as 'Mac & Charlie write a movie' & 'The Great Recession'. The going on the road episode was really brilliant I thought and a great way to pair off the gang into couples and see how they interact with each other. Dennis & Charlie nearly killing themselves trying to cook food was hysterical and I loved how they constantly tried to ditch Dee. 'Waitress is getting married' was a great Dee & Charlie episode. Dee as the scheming and manipulative obsessor was a great role for her and Charlie and his dating website surpassed it. Loved how Mac & Dennis gave up asking him basic questions for his profile and him confusing 'philanthropist' and referring to himself as a 'full on rapist' had me crying. The look on the woman's face completed it. 'World Series Defence' was a vast improvment on the Liberty Bell episode in terms of an episode being narrated. Loved all their exploits in losing the tickets, Charlie pushing Dennis in front of a car to try and con someone into tickets as compensation and all the cutback to the court. Charlie trying to present a separate lawsuit against the mascot was great & the re-appearance of the rednecks who are constantly on the look out for hate crimes was a welcome touch.

'Gang wrestles for ther Troops' was hysterical and a great Cricket episode. Loved how violent he was in duping them into the ring and Dennis, Mac & Charlie as The Birds of War might have been the greatest 'uncomfortable to watch' moment in the show's history. Piper was great as the rambling lunatic terrifying the gang and the ending with Frank nearly mutilating Cricket, raising his arms in hope and being showered with praise was one of the better payoffs to an episode. Mac & Dennis Break Up was a nice look at presenting a new perspective on their friendship and in particular Mac being very effeminate and paranoid. Wasn't anything ground-breaking but I liked how they switched the de-facto friendships and explored the new direction with Mac hanging out with Frank & Dennis struggling to make do with Charlie & Dee. 'The D.E.N.N.I.S System' was for me the best episode of the season. That fucking look when Dennis acknowlodges the camera when describing how he wooed the chemist was hysterical and I loved how they brought up Mac & Frank both swooping in on Dennis' exes after he breaks their heart. Dennis freaking out at all of them being terrible at grasping the logic behind his system at the fare was priceless. 'Gang Reignites the Rivalry' was a great documentation of how pathetic the gang appear to the outside world and I loved the ironic theme of making their old rival the enemy whilst remaining unaware of just how cuntish they were being. Loved the payoff to Dee choking in the flip clip game and how they actually banked on it all along.
