Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

I got 1/2 way through it and had a night job for years so couldn't watch much of anything (did the same with The Shield but ended up watching that all like a year ago) I need to see the last 2-3 seasons is all. I keep meaning to buy the boxset, probably will pretty soon.

Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

Finished Season 3 of Breaking Bad. It was great. Last two eps ruled. I don't think I'm finding it as tense as people have made out it would be. It's a really great show but some stuff seemed out of nowhere like the Skyler storyline towards the end of the season. Marie is fucking shit and pointless. Walt/Jesse are obviously two really great characters. I just feel like it lacks the complexity of Sopranos or The Wire or Mad Men which is what puts them over the top of other shows. Anyway, its a gripping show and by far better than everything on TV now bar Mad Men.

Get started on season 4 immediately. It the best of the series IMO. Season 5 is incredible as well and will likely surpass 4 in my view.

But yeah, season 4 is where it's at for BB.

Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

I think Breaking Bad is very complex, and in a good way, in there being a difference between confusing and complex, Breaking Bad's complexity isn't realised episode to episode, I also don't think any character is 'bad' in a creative sense.

Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

It's not that the show is that complex, it's that they don't explain every little detail out to the audience, as if they're morons, the way every other show on TV does.

Some dumbasses were confused about Jesse knowing about Walt poisoning Brock thing because they didn't go into an exact explanation of how he had this realization.

Here's what I'm talking about:

What did you think the One Minute and Half Measures scenes/episodes, Bubz?

Btw, BrBad is my Top 5 drama ever, but I agree with Bubz, it doesn't have the "it" factor like Sopranos, Wire and Mad Men. Those 3 show are HOLY TRINITY.

Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

Both fantastic episodes. Half Measures was especially brilliant. The stuff with Hank mid season was totally batshit.

I didn't mean to say BB wasn't complex BTW. Just that if you compare it to how deep and complex the characters of Sopranos or Mad Men are, it doesn't compare to that level or writing or development for me. It's the most intense show I've ever seen though, bar the last string of episodes from Sopranos maybe l. I haven't started season 4 though and I'm excited to after the end of season 3.

Re: TV Show Thread: Season/Series 2 (NO FUCKING SPOILERS)

I understand what you're saying, Mad Men and The Sopranos are two other shows I have always been interested in, nearing the end of season 1 of Mad Men which I've been watching gradually, got some of The Sopranos downloaded, and pretty sure I'm going to have a run at it, but Breaking Bad I do, and have watched, most people like season 4 best , so far, btw, but season 5 will have just about overtaken that for most people, and myself probably, something that will probably be even further solidified in peoples minds and the history of the show, when season 5 is watched more in a whole continuous run, once the show has completely finished.
