Default Stand-Up Comedy Discussion Thread

Could be on DVD, could be an album, could be one that you saw in person. Whatever the case, what are some of the best stand-up's you've ever seen/heard?

Personally:

It really depends on the comedy style that suits you but ill start this off with one of the GOATS. Louis CK will take you to subjects and places you do not want to go. But you'll be glad you did. lol

One Night Stand
Shameless
Chewed Up
Hilarious

Chewed Up is the only "meh" one out of the bunch for me.

There's nothing but Helge Schneider to me.

Unfortunately never went to one of his live shows.
I def plan to this year. It's in september, so I have enough time so save some money.

Serdar Somuncu is awesome, too.

Most german comedians/stand ups are awful, so I can't name more.

I like Louis CK, but I've only watched 'Louie' and the 'Chewed Up' stand up special. Since you said that one was only 'meh', would you recommend me finding his other stand up shows and watching them?

Mitch Hedberg was great too. The majority of people I know don't get his type of humor at all but I find him hilarious. His routine was always the most random thoughts and ramblings that had occurred to him that day / week.

Quote:
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.

Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something.

The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how good I get, I'll never be as good as a wall.

Dogs are forever in the push up postion.

I'm a heroine addict. I need to have sex with women who have saved someone's life.

Shameless and Hilarious are fantastic. Chewed Up is the weakest out of the three in my opinion so I'd definitely recommend them. One Night Stand was a half hour special but is equally as good too.
