Ok, I've been reading this whole thread and I just needed to comment on something on Pegasus and that whole arc and I'm using your quote as a reference point.
All right, I am pissed off on how the duelists like Yugi and Kaiba (sp?) were thinking and reacting when they were facing Pegasus and his eye powers. Just because Pegasus knows what cards they are holding and what they are thinking, that does not mean that he is unbeatable on the basis of that.
They can still win the duels even with that aspect in play. All they had to do is not be as predictable in their plays as they did (Pretty much, a "You think I am going to do this, but I also have this strategy in mind that I may do instead, so you cannot really distinguish what I am really going to do for my next move.")
That they cannot just set up a play and wait for a moment to activate it in a later time. Nawww, Pegasus and, probably, a novice player but, great thinker, knows exactly what's up and counter that without any problems.
As a person that watches a lot of poker (which for the most part, involves a lot of thinking leveling on a different level and reacting accordingly when things go wrong and, sometimes, need a little variance to even things out), I felt disappointed in the approaches in the anime on how to beat Pegasus.
Ok, rant about that is over. I haven't watched/read Fairy Tail and One Piece in a long time and I got to catch up on those. Are the current chapters on those awesome? I'm caught up with Naruto and don't really care much for this war arc. I just want that arc to end and to see a Naruto/Sasuke clash to finally see how the future of everyone in the story winds up.
