Karpyshyn (yeah I google'd it, sue me!) is a fucking BOSS when it comes to Star Wars novels IMO, the Darth Bane novels were masterpieces.

Re: Star Wars Universe

Star wars books are too long and boring.

Also why do people think Star Wars is so good when virtually everyone only likes 2 out of the 6 films? (4 & 5)

Re: Star Wars Universe

Zahn and Karpyshyn are great SW authors. Michael Stackpole and Kevin Anderson are pretty good too.

Recommend reading:

Darth Bane Trilogy - Karpyshyn
The Thrawn Trilogy - Zahn
The Jedi Academy Trilogy - Anderson
I, Jedi - Stackpole
Darksaber - Anderson

I haven't really read the X-Wing books but I hear they're good. Personally I'm a Jedi mark.

Re: Star Wars Universe

I've got The Han Solo Trilogy by A.C Crispin
Scoundrels by Zahn
and the entire X-Wing series/I Jedi ( I read one or two of the X-Wing books and I, Jedi when I was a kid) lined up so i'll be in a Galaxy Far, Far away for a while.

And I like all the movies except Episode 2 which has almost nothing going for it.

Re: Star Wars Universe

I own in chronological order:

Star Wars Fatal Alliance (meh)
Darth Bane Trilogy ()
Lando Calrissian Adventures (OK)
Han Solo Adventures (OK)
Han Solo Trilogy (meh)
Thrawn Trilogy ()
Jedi Academy Trilogy (really good)
I, Jedi (really good)
Children of the Jedi (bleh)
Darksaber (really good)
Planet of Twilight (better than COTJ but still not one of the better books IMO)
Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy (OK)

Basically I haven't had good experiences with female SW authors.

Haven't really gotten into NJO or anything beyond. I know the major plot points from reading online but haven't read the books themselves.

Re: Star Wars Universe

I enjoyed the Darth Bane trilogy. Was nice to see something well written from the POV of a 'bad guy'.

Call Kenny Loggins. Cause you're in the Danger Zone.

Re: Star Wars Universe

Truce at Bakura is the worst SW book i've read and it was written by a woman. You might be onto something with the female authors stuff CP. What i've read of the first Solo Trilogy book is pretty undwerwhelming so far.\

Have you read Revan CP?

and you got like 7 other Zahn books to read. Get on it.

I'd say the Duel of Fates (Obi Wan/Qui Gon vs. Maul) was the best lightsaber fight. Anakin and Obi-Wan was fantastic yeah, but as for genuine sword fighting the Duel of Fates takes it.

Re: Star Wars Universe

Yeah Maul v Qui Gon/Obi Wan is the best by far. Luke v Vader both times is better than Anakin v Obi Wan. I even like Vader v Obi Wan more.
