Recommend LOTF, if you hated the prequel trilogy.

Re: Star Wars Universe

I didn't hate the prequels, just Episode 2 which is flat out bad.

Not interested in post New Republic era stuff for some reason.

Same. I don't see the point. I get the whole 'history repeats' angle but if I want to read stories about Skywalker's falling to the dark side I'll read ROTS. Or screw it, I'll just watch the Death Star II duel. Anakin is supposed to be the exception not the rule.

Hope you enjoy the books.

Re: Star Wars Universe

Anyone read the Darth Bane trilogy?

Fucking outstanding books.

I sometimes think Vader should have died like the top heel he was and not as a face.

Re: Star Wars Universe

Nah, the whole idea behind Vader was he was supposed to be corrupted, only the destroy The Sith in the end and bring balance to the Force. I don't have any problem with how he went out.

Yeah, I especially loved Path of Destruction. Kinda didn't like the fact he was basically invincible in RoT though. I don't like how powerful some writers write Jedi to be.

I was more interested in Zannah's story, there is nothing in the EU on her outside the trilogy other than a few comics (which I have pretty much no interest in) unfortunatley.

I did read somewhere that Drew Karpyshyn is writing a Zannah / Cognus trilogy so I will definatley pick those up.

Re: Star Wars Universe

I'm curious about his latest book about the Non-Jedi descendant for Revan & Bastila. Hes like a secret agent or something which is something you don't really see in the SW EU. Supposedly there is another Dash Rendar book too along the same lines, Shadow Games or something. Might need to check that out.

and yeah Rule of Two was all about Zannah, which is should have been. Bane didn't really do much at all in it. Path - Bane, Rule - Zannah and the final book was all about their confrontation. Worked really well.

Yeah thats the one. Let me know how it is. I'm interested in the Old Republic series because there is a lot that can be done with it.
