When i found that it was airing in the UK again i thought id tune in and honestly i thought it would be so bad its good or become a guilty pleasure and in many ways it is, the hammy acting, the ridiculous stories and the overall plot convience contributes to that (shark repellant) but ive found myself genuinely enjoying it and actually go out of my way to watch it. I cant exactly explain what it is whether its a charm about the show or what. Does anyone else feel this way? Also what are your thoughts on the show?
It's because of Adam West and Burt Ward and the crazy colorful sets. The writing is just absurdist funny stuff most of the time. Then there is the great FRANK GORSHIN.
I can't stand the Riddler as a serious character, so Gorshin's over the top insanity is pretty much my favorite comedic performance ever...and the guy hadn't really ever done comedy before I don't think.
Yeah, it's the absolute absurdity of it all. It doesn't take itself seriously, and so neither do we, the audience. I'm not sure I know anyone that's watched it and hasn't enjoyed it. I always marked out for "Same Bat-Time, same Bat-Channel!"

Call Kenny Loggins. Cause you're in the Danger Zone.
I would mark if someone made a new smartly written, well-acted Batman movie in a similar tone the 60s Batman had. I know if done properly it could be one of the funnest and action-packed experiences. Still love the Dark Knight, though.
This show was just classic. From the sound effects to Batman & Robin's lame lines, the cooky villains (lmao @ Mr. Freeze), the RED telephone, the gadgets, the detective work, etc. I had fun watching this show as a child.
That reminds me - Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt as Catwoman! Both brought memorable elements to the role and made it their own. Julie embodied the character completely (for this specific Batman) and Eartha brought a sultriness only she could with her signature voice and purrr.
