Vincent Price should've been Hugo Strange.
Scarecrow also would've made a good edition to the show instead of the made up villains for it.
I did hear about an unaired episode with Killer Moth as well.

Batman used a gun in 1939, he was also stripped of his gun in 1939. He only used it for a very, very brief time.

Batman was more campy in the 50s. Julius Schwartz took over in the 60s and actually made the character a lot more serious. Unfortunately the show got so popular that DC forced him to switch the tone again for a few years. Once the shows ratings declined it got more serious again.

Batgirl really seemed like their only attempt to keep the show up. They could've done a much better attempt with something like Batman meeting the man who killed his parents, or the same with Robin.

Did Batman's parent's death ever get brought up on this show?

Most likely not, but it would make a total of 1 outta 1 serious moments in the show if they were trying to "jump the shark" i suppose. I would imagine his parents were mentioned at least.

Like everyone else has said, it's just over-the-top and campy fun. The show doesn't take itself seriously and it somehow works. I used to rush home from school to watch the episodes back to back, I loved it. Thankfully found the entire show on a bootleg dvd set for relatively cheap recently.

Mad Hatter was a favorite of mine, I'm not even sure why really.
