Re: What is it about the 60's Batman show?

Clique about your point about remaking the show...I'm not sure it would work simply because of the amazing and strangely talented cast. Adam West, Cesar Romero, Vincent Price, Julie Newmar, Burgess Meredith etc... Its just a shame the show didnt go on a little bit longer i heard Adam West hated the show for a while though.

Re: What is it about the 60's Batman show?

I wouldn't want them to remake the series either. I just wouldn't mind a good Batman movie with a tone similar to this show (almost like a throwback or homage) or just more upbeat & pure fun film experience. They tried and fail miserably with the Batman & Robin movie is the 90s but with a better director/script/cast it could be a very enjoyable movie with plenty of replay value.

However, looking at the success of The Dark Knight Trilogy and the video games it probably won't happen anytime soon or at all, and I'm fine with that too. It would be cool if a talented crew gave it a shot.

Re: What is it about the 60's Batman show?

I would recommend they make a live action version of the Brave and The Bold since thats the closest thing there is nowadays. I forgot to mention i got the same sort of feeling with Brave & The Bold since i used to watch that from time to time but one of the things that the 60's Batman retains is that old, nostalgic look where at B&TB is obviously CGI as well classic animation.

The first batman episode I ever watched, love the fight scene at 5:45, IDK how any of them could see it was so dark.

I watched it for the first time the other night whilst I was very drunk, andI just loved it. Just because of the sheer whackiness of it all.

Re: What is it about the 60's Batman show?

This show was hilarious. Batman is extremely overpowered. I was watching the episodes with The Minstrel, who created new technology in order to take control of the Stock Market and Batman is able to counter this ingeniously developed technology in an instant. Pure hax. Some of these villains had really good schemes too. But you can't beat a guy that pulls "Shark Repellant" out of thin air.

Speaking of which, didn't he have other types of repellant on the shelf too.

Batman's belt was just full of plot convenience lol and as a result created so many plotholes but it was just so frequent that I became used to it. Speaking of i think it may have finished airing in the UK .

It's not live action, but someone mentioned The Brave And The Bold, which was on Cartoon Network. There's also a really awesome animated flick called Justice Leage: The New Frontier which also has an oldschool style. I have it on dvd and it's totally worth it.
