Django's a great film but the last 20 minutes was completely unnecessary.

You mean when he rescues his wife and kills the bad guys? Yeah sure. Pulp Fiction on the other hand did have a few unnecessary bits.

Re: I Like The Way You Die Boy - Django Unchained Movie Discussion

Loved this film. One of Tarantino's best. His use of music and sampling and mixing it with the visuals has never been better. The shoot out scene was incredible, the soundtrack ruled the world, some mark out moments, great humor, great performances (DiCaprio was immense). A mixture of western homages and exploitation homages with Tarantino's trademark twist. A slightly different approach this time around, Tarantino was clearly having tons of fun with this, it's more focused on being ridiculously entertaining and FUN, while at the same time it's unmistakeably a QT movie. Nobody else could have made a film like this. I was sat there for the last half of the film with a ridiculous grin on my face. Brilliant.

Just watched Reservoir Dogs and it was a fantastic film. Next i'm either going to re watch Pulp fiction or watch Inglorious Bastards.

I enjoyed Django too, but I didn’t think it was that great. DiCaprio, Waltz and Jackson were really good though and I’d watch it again just for them.

Some things annoyed me a little, like Django being a great marksman with his first ever try and Steven completely sussing them out just by noticing a couple of glances they shared. A little more could have been done here, like have something in Django’s past where he learned to shoot, or maybe a montage of him learning.

As for them getting sprung during the dinner, it all seemed a bit forced. Steven really had no right to be bang on with his observations with what he saw.

Favourite scene is probably the one where Tarantino got exploded. Proper cracked me up.
When he blows up and that the John Legend song hits, that was the single coolest moment of the film. Seeing Django come out the smoke looking all badass, you knew some shit was about to pop off.

Christoph Waltz, Samuel Jackson and Leo Dicaprio made this movie. Would definitely watch again. Jackson made me really hate his character lol.

Re: I Like The Way You Die Boy - Django Unchained Movie Discussion

Pretty meh movie.

Thought the movie reached its climax too soon and the final 15-20 minutes I started getting bored.

Some of the "over the top" things were fun but some were just lousy and took away from the movie.

DiCaprio did a excellent job, like always.

Wouldnt bother watching again.

Yup.. I enjoyed Waltz, Jackson and Dicaprio immensely. While I really liked the movie, I felt it dragged on quite a bit. I left the movie a little disappointed tbh. I felt as if everything after Waltz died felt like an eternity.. Plus the Mandingo scene was a pretty uncomfortable watch.

I did love the Jonah Hill cameo though

Re: I Like The Way You Die Boy - Django Unchained Movie Discussion

Just saw the film with a friend. My favorite film of 2012: that was the most fun I had at the movies in a long time. The acting was phenomenal, the soundtrack and simple story and scenery were all fantastic. I agree that everything after the Dentist and DiCaprio were killed dragged a bit... but I didn't want the film to end at that point so I was fine with it.
