Apocalypse (from X Men)

Now, I have always wondered about this, but I never had access to comics, so someone who has seen the cartoon series and comics, could he/she please tell me is he supposed to be the most powerful mutant ever?
I mean if we don't look at the intergalactic mutants, is he the most powerful one?
In the animated series from 1992 to 1997, that aired on fox kids, he was fucking invincible. Nothing ever came close to killing him.
Then in X men evolution, he was killed pretty easily.
I know about En Sabah Nur and his origins. Read aout that.
I am just looking for some more insight into how strong he really is.

Re: Apocalypse (from x men)

He's not a powerful as Phoenix (though that may not count), but he's strong enough to handle several heroes at once and even beat the Hulk one on one. His power is the ability to manipulate his molecules to allow him to change into almost anything. He was augmented using Celestial tech. In a alternate timeline, he conquered most of the Earth with the X-Men working as freedom fighters. I don't know if he's the most powerful, but he's high up there. The only mutant I can think of that might be higher in scale is the Scarlet Witch.

Re: Apocalypse (from x men)

Phoenix could never find a stable host, so that's debatable. Didn't Apocalypse also have the ability to absorb other mutant's powers?
There is a lot of talk of how some mutants never realised their power potential. Perhaps Apocalypse has realised his potential to the max, placing him ahead of other mutants who haven't.

Well Phoenix isn't a mutant. And no, he couldn't absorb other powers, that was Rogue who could do that. And to be fair, a lot of Apocalypse's current power was from technology, first from Kang, then from the Celestials. As far as potential, there is something to that, but as such no single mutant has gotten that far yet.

For the hulk beating there's also some very low showings and it was the weakest incarnation.
The only omega level mutant he'd reguarly defeat is iceman. Apoc's got a lot of overall power ie super stats, mental powers, tech etc. But he hasn't got the feats to back up being above Xavier level TP or to be as strong as marvel's powerhouses (hulk, thor etc)

Pookie is a pushover. Don't believe the hype.

Well I believe one artist might have thought like that, but in the x men cartoons, apocalypse would have owned Magneto easily.

Yeah, lets go with the cartoon and not the actual comic its based on.

If you look hard enough there is a cominc\show\story some where where Enter guy here beats enter guy here

The comins have been restared, and gone to "what ifs" so many times you can no longer even use those half the time with out setting which diminsion, which year, and what day

other wise you can make the claim that so and so beat them

Re: Apocalypse (from X Men)

Well to me he looked like X men's deadliest foe. X men have beaten Magneto so many times, he doesn't look threatening anymore. I mean he doesn't really want to kill the x men, so that might be a reason.
