I went to Best Buy again today... I still can't decide on which HDTV to buy. The Plasma's looked dim, the LED bright, even though most reviewers say Plasma looks better.

Should I just get a 1080p 600Hz Plasma, since the latter is suppose to look the best?

I'll be watching TV, movies and Xbox 360 games on it.

Plasma is better for sports LED better, for general viewing. Or was it LCD?

LED is the best. Make sure its super expensive tho for best quality.

LED, but Plasma is cheaper and you probably won't notice.

led, no contest.

just make sure the refresh rate is at least 60. especially if you're going to be gaming.

also make sure it has enough hdmi ports for what you need it for

and if possible try not to cheap out on the brand if possible. you're better off spending a bit extra and having that peace of mind that it's made from high quality parts and less likely to fuck up.

If you're going for a cheap brand I would recommend a VIZIO LED HDTV. It's just as clear as the good brands.

Lol at all the LCD comments.

Almost all professional TV sites have agreed Plasma has better picture quality. They have deeper black levels and in general look more like theater viewings while LCD has is just a lot more bright.

And yes LCDs look better in stores due to the setting plasma are on and the shiny lights beaming at them.

Only thing LCD has over plasma is less image retention and better for viewing in brighter rooms due to the glare plasma can have from sunlight.

If you want an LCD equal to that of the Panasonic plasma you'll be paying about 400$ more. And plasmad tend to have less input lag when playing video games than LCD.

Oh and everytime I say LCD, you can replace it with LED if you want. The terms are swappable in this post.
