Re: Your Top 5 Favorite Movies
Abominable Dr Phibes, what an amazing film. Most of that horror stuff listed was absolute class however I've never heard of The Signal. Intrigued....
By the way I think Manhunter is definitely a psychological horror as opposed to a drama. It has an inherent creepiness throughout.

LA Confidential doesn't get anywhere near as much credit as it should. It's a fantastic movie, with an amazing cast.

I don't know how i'd go about recommending The Signal. First off it's a low budget film, but they make good use of what they have. It's a Zombie Apocalypse type movie without it being Zombies in the traditional sense. Movies i'd compare it to are Dead Snow for it's visuals, The original Crazies and Pontypool in the storyline, but Signal is still completely original. It's a violent film, but somehow meant to be a VERY dark and twisted comedy as much as a horror film.
Agree with you on manhunter, it is psychological horror, I suppose I always saw it as a very good drama as well. Michael Mann always refused to acknowledge it as horror. Technically, I could also call Blue Velvet a horror film especially when it came to the Frank Booth scenes. If I made top 20 lists, i'm sure the sorting would've been a bit different lol
