Re: Top 15 Best & Top 15 Worst Comic Book Based Movies

The Amazing Spiderman>>>Original Spiderman trilogy .

And the Green Lantern film wasn't that bad but I wouldn't put it in the best list by any means. The original Burton Batman wasn't THAT great. It was good, I grew up on it but it wasn't spectacular like people say it is imo. For some reason, in Batman films they make Batman kill off guys its ridiculous and far from Batman. Batman Begins, he lets R'as Al Ghul die why? "I don't have to save you"yes you do, you're Batman! I love that movie but that changes who Batman is. Dark Knight, he kills Two Face flat out he kills him. Sure he saved the boy but he killed! Harvey Dent. In Rises he doesn't even care that Talia and Bane get killed off. Not to mention in the original Burton film, he kills a guy by handing him a grenade and doesn't give a shit about The Joker dying and it was him who tied him to a gargoyle ffs.

Makes no sense to me why they do that, he's no better than the people he tries to stop, in both series of films.

Not one mention for Ghost World. How on earth?

Re: Top 15 Best & Top 15 Worst Comic Book Based Movies

Idk even know if I have seen 15 but I will try.
1.Avengers
2.The Dark Knight
3.Spiderman 2
4.X2
5.Batman Begins
6.The Dark Knight Rises
7.X-Men First Class(cuz Magneto)
8.John Carter
9.Iron Man
10. Captain America
11.Hell Boy
12.The Punisher
13.Kick Ass
14. The Incredible Hulk
15. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Only have Rise of the Silver Surfer because he is my fave comicbook characters tied with Superboy Prime. I marked out seeing him in the trailers. He is so awesome but man did they fuck him up in the movie. The Board gives him his power? Bad list by me though only because it was hard remembering every comic movie I've seen.

Only bad one I can list at the top of my head is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. During that movie I literally wanted to strangle Nice Cage. It was at that moment I decided to hate him. That movie was utter shit. The first one was way better and that one wasn't even that great.

Re: Top 15 Best & Top 15 Worst Comic Book Based Movies

I've already spoken before on my feelings on Batman Begins.

It is GOOD. It is solidly entertaining and a step in the right direction for how to handle the character for the big screen. One of the best ever.....eh.

The fight scenes are flat out terrible. That super close up rapid pace camera work on the fights just sucked. I didn't like how The Scarecrow was handled. Great performance, but he was ultimately just kicked to the side, and as a fan of Scarecrow, that was disappointing. He got bitched out by Katie Holmes. Fuck! Speaking of Ms. Holmes, she was down right awful. There were also a lot of weird moments that kind of betrayed the super realism that the universe was trying to achieve (if there is a Microwave Emitter that evaporates water, then why don't people burst? How can a guy be tied to a spotlight and not burn to death?).

Also, it is one of those movies where I liked the first half a lot more than the second half. Watching Bruce become Batman and the method of doing so is really interesting and is really well done. Once he gets back to Gotham though and we start getting into League of Shadows stuff and there whole plan to destroy Gotham, it doesn't quite live up to it.

I am not bashing the movie. Like I said, I enjoyed it. I liked the tone and atmosphere they achieved and there was certainly more good than bad. But I never understood the "best comic book movie EVER!" label that it has gotten since it came out.

Re: Top 15 Best & Top 15 Worst Comic Book Based Movies

I think Daredevil gets shit on more than it deserves. It's not a great film but it's not a terrible one. In the context of comic book movies, I would not put it on the bottom list. (Wouldn't put it on the top list either though)

Re: Top 15 Best & Top 15 Worst Comic Book Based Movies

I haven't bothered to watch Daredevil in ages but I don't ever recall thinking it was really bad. In fact the thing I remember about it the most was a campy Colin Farrell having a lot of fun with his role as Bullseye.

I flip flop on if I like Dark Knight or Begins better on a regular basis, but i'd probably call either of them the best comic movie ever.

I flat out forgot about Sin City that was great. I still owe my best friend a punch in the nuts for conning me into watching The Spirit though. That might be the worst comic movie i've seen.

Spirit was at least funny in it's awfulness.

Is it really considered a cameo? I don't think he was uncredited and its not like the guy is famous for anything other than being the guy who played Superman in a shitty Superman flick. I can only think of 3 movies hes in.
