Sure he could do it? He would be the definitive version of The Joker. Ledger’s inspirations are Oldman and DDL. He cites Sid and Nancy as one of his favourite performances (the other being DDL in My Left Foot). If Oldman can’t do this sort of thing (villainous roles are his bread and butter)... no one can.
