Wedding Daze...seemed to be an indirect parody about rom-coms.

Brilliant film. I could see me liking it even more on multiple viewings. 8/10

Vertigo

Other than Psycho I am not a Hitchcock fan. This has one of the worst endings to a film I've ever seen. 3/10

Silver Linings Playbook

WTF? I watched this not knowing anything about it. What I got was a predictable bag of wank that had a focus on characterisation over plot which is fine except for the small matter of every character in this film being so unlikable. Ever since Shakespeare in love won the best picture film the oscars have been a bit of a joke for me. After I watched this I decided to read the wiki article to read about how much hate this film deservedly got where I discovered it's nominated for best picture award... You've hit a new low oscars. 2/10
yeah , fuck'em for making a movie about real issues families face with every day of their goddamn lives and fuck'em for not making a bipolar guy who nearly killed his wife's lover and has anger issues ( so does his dad) a fucking superhero who is likable!!! /sarcasm

fuck you .

( sorry if i went too far but i have had similar issues with my family members and this movie is like a god to me!! because i can relate to it . )

Watched Platoon for the first time. Movie was phenomenal. One of the best war movies I've seen. Charlie Harper, Dr. Cox, and Johnny Chase, whats not to like.

8/10

got around to seeing the guilt trip on the weekend, I was pleasantly surprised. Better than I expected but could have had a better ending.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

A lesser known horror film called Jack's Back starring James Spader. A killer is copying the Ripper murders 100 years to the date in LA.
This really needs to be released on DVD stateside. A very well made film with plot twists (plot twists everywhere), atmosphere and a cool score. 9/10

Skyfall (2012)

It's a great action film but not a Bond film.

7/10

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Silver Linings Playbook was probably my favorite movie of the year. I just left the theater really happy with what I saw.

But the last movie I watched was Stanley Kubricks Lolita in my Film and Lit class. I am a Third year film school student and we watched it in class. I was surprised because I thought I was going to hate it because of the uncomofrtable plot of the film and by how many people hate it but I found it really funny and self-aware. Realy enjoyable film. Obviously would not call it Kubricks best but it was a fun movie to watch. Much more enjoyable than most of the overrated shitty movies a Film School students get forced to watch and have to say they liked it or else get crucified by all the wannabe "Artists"....this almost turned into a rant against my fellow film students but I stopped myself.

People are going to have differing opinions. Just roll with it. Tone down the abrasiveness.
