Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Another sequel & another previous character from the series who turned out to be a stronger, more interesting, & easier to find an emotional connection w/over the lead in the first film. Pusher set things up, but other than that, it was a bore. Whereas the latter two did a real nice job of making it compelling & reserved all in the vein of "daily life". Doesn't quite beat out Pusher II for me, but it comes close & largely only due to Zlatko Buric. As his various supporting characters weren't as deep as previous stories. Mads Mikkelsen at the end of the day just wins me over for the preference. Similar w/the climax in part II. Credit to Refn for making a character such as Milo, whom I previously viewed as evil, into someone I was able to support almost immediately from this film's viewpoint.

Nouvelle Vague.

Godzilla (2014)

Terrible movie. The first act was good. Bryan Cranston was as compelling as always been then as soon as they reveal the giant Starship Troopers reject monster it all goes downhill FAST. The main protag is the single most boring, generic one-dimensional character I have ever seen in my life. The two bad monsters are half the size of Godzilla and realistically pose no threat. 95% of the fights between monsters are either not shown at all, shown for one second clips on a TV or in the background as BORING FUCKER runs around amongst rubble. I couldn't possibly think of a WORSE way to make a Godzilla picture. They didn't even get the monster fighting right let alone the human element that is supposed to anchor the picture. Man it was awful.

I liked that you didn't see too much of Godzilla in the movie until the last half hour but the ending itself was fucking shit and Aaron Johnson was boring as fuck.

I wouldn't have minded it if he wasn't a part of the story, but he was. He shows up 50 minutes into the movie in broad daylight and they just inexplicably decided "WE'RE NOT GOING TO SHOW YOU WHAT HAPPENS FOR NO REASON EVEN THOUGH IT'S PRETTY IMPORTANT. OH LOOK NOW HE'S SWIMMING AWAY ALONGSIDE SOME BOATS!!?!?!" It made the whole thing feel disjointed and bizarre. They seriously screwed it up. Kick-Ass should have died at the end of the first act, Cranston racked with guilt over causing the deaths of his wife and kid has no course of action left but to seek redemption by saving his daughter in-law and Grandson. Now that's a human story we can get behind, not "Get bomb here. Oops, now move bomb out of there."

V for Vendetta (2006)

I thought this was a really good film as I thought the plot was a nice combination of revenge and standing up against the government. Hugo Weaving does an excellent job as the eloquently spoken yet masked terrorist "V" and provides both thought provoking dialogue and crazy action. Also, Natalie Portman pulls off the Sinéad O'Connor O'Connor look really well.

My favorite in the romero dead series. I juust love the dark tone
of the film. Its just so dower. And the heat brewing between the scientist characters
and the power hungry militants.

Trying to find a cure when its all pretty much resolute.
Why have a cure when theres very little left to cure. Its hopeless.

Plus i love the underground setting. So closed in.
And tom savinis best zombie make-up and practical fx. Still holds up.
And captain rhodes is a bad ass.

ITS MY MONKEY FARM FRANKENSTEIN!!!!
CHOKE ON EM!!!!.
