Re: Ranking the Bond Films

For me personally, the Connery era is the best as I enjoyed pretty much every film he was in.

Lazanby only played him once, but was boring to me. A lot of people seem to like that movie though, so what do I know.

The Roger Moore had heavy ups and downs. Loved The Spy Who Loved Me, and fuck it, Moonraker is a hoot, but he was also in some of the worst entries.

Dalton's movies are sort of middle of the road. Not bad, not great.

Brosnan peaked with his first movie, Goldeneye. The rest of films left a lot to be desired, and Die Another Day was fucking atrocious.

Craig so far has been pretty good. Loved Casino Royale. Quantam was a bit of a buster, but Skyfall was pretty good, so it is all good.

Re: Ranking the Bond Films

The lack of connection is what I felt with From Russia With Love too. It's good, but something about it came across as a bit boring when compared to other Bond films for me.

Re: Ranking the Bond Films

I don't get why some don't like Solace. I thought it was a great film. It might the weakest of the Craig trilogy, but still better than half the other Bond films, good movie.

Re: Ranking the Bond Films

Personally, I just didn't click with Quantam. I didn't hate it, but it just felt like a souless action movie which is a far departure from what Casino Royale was, which was a huge breath of fresh air for the franchise.

I don't put it down there with some of the idiotic Brosnan films like Die Another Day, but it felt like the whole movie was just about chases and stuff going boom without offering much intrigue or sense of danger.

Re: Ranking the Bond Films

I would rank QoS below Bond movies that I haven't even seen. I didn't feel a connection with the characters, the 'bad guys' plot was less 'evil' and more 'corporate asshole', and every time I've watched it (3 times), I've hated it more.

Call Kenny Loggins. Cause you're in the Danger Zone.
