It sounds as if it's a long way off, but Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro is apparently in negotiations with Warner Bros. to bring a supernatural version of The Avengers to the big screen featuring the likes of The Spectre, Phantom Strange, Sargon and more! Read on for details.

Our friends over at Latino-Review have just broken one hell of a story. According to the site, Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pacific Rim) will soon begin work on a DC Comics adaptation for Warner Bros. called Heaven Sent, and it will bring together some of the most well-known supernatural characters from that comic book universe, including:

• Deadman
• The Spectre
• Swamp Thing
• Constantine Hellblazer
• Phantom Stranger
• Zatanna
• Zatara
• Sargon
• Etrigan the Demon

That's the list the site has and it seems to cover that area of the DC Universe very nicely (a shame that there's no mention of Animal Man though...). Warner's lawyers are currently hard at work on making sure they have the rights to bring each of these characters to the big screen, and while it's a project which is likely still a good few years away, but it's definitely not too early to start getting excited about this ambitious project!

Fortunately he passed on the feature version of V and the sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but he does want to do his own version of the Avengers, just supernaturally. Called HEAVEN SENT he is combining all the magical beings from DC Comics in one epic adventure. Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, Constantine Hellblazer, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Zatara, and Sargon as well as Etrigan the Demon will team up to no doubt save us from the Stay Puft Marshmallow man. Now this one is a ways away, but Warner’s lawyers have been working every night trying to clear the rights to all these characters. I am excited. Imagine a giant inflatable Spectre floating over San Diego ComiCon like we had with the SKY CAPTAIN Robot? Or endless screenings of the film like with SCOTT PILGRIM? Or maybe a building converted into a giant ad like with COWBOYS AND ALIENS? HEAVEN SENT is certain to RULE ComicCon in 2020! Que Bueno!

Without a doubt, consistently the best DC title right now besides I,Vampire and Batman. This will be amazing. This won't be specifically a JL Dark movie considering Swamp Thing is in it, but he is branded under the "Dark" flag. Hopefully Animal Man will get included. But if he wants to do a "Supernatural Avengers" then it Justice League Dark...or Sam and Dean vs. Iron Man and Thor.

Sorry! Not everyday I get to gush over two of my favorite things, Comics and Supernatural.

i like this. DC above all needs to get their B and C list characters out there and this may just be it. instead of just imitating marvel, go after a completely different area

now lets see if we can get brad bird to make a Flash movie

And somehow get HBO onboard a Sandman series

So I take it you're a big fan of Spirit of the Beehive? Did you like the movie Hunger Games?

The Orphanage remake? You mean a movie that isn't even made yet and Del Toro helped originally get made?

I'm sorry, but do you just suck at trolling or are you one of those people who needs to bitch about everything? Do you even have a real opinion or are you just doing this because its something to get mad about?

GUYS! STAR WARS WAS A RIP OFF OF THE HIDDEN FORTRESS! WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT!

Only one I ever bothered to read was Hellblazer & they've already made a movie on that (Constantine). I wouldn't be opposed to a Constantine too, although I'm not a huge Keanu fan, at least they killed off Shia LeBouf in the first one.
