I love violence. Especially when it's pointless.

I like violent movies, sure, but not when it's overly excessive like Kill Bill. I really like movies that are pure mind-fucks, however.

depends.

If the movie portrays Violence in a Ridiculous way or is critic against it, sure. On the other hand i will never accept trash like the steticism of violence presented in some movies, shit like Irreversible and American History X are pure garbage

Well this (torturing people) makes me happier than all your gold ever could!
And that makes me happier than all her sapphires,
so go buy yourself a golden hand, and FUCK yourself with it!"

Violence can be used very effectively in movies, Drive and Snowtown are two recent ones that come to mind as well as stuff like Taxi Driver. It can also be used in a comedic way or to look amazing like in Kill Bill, so yeah. I don't watch movies just because they're violent if that's what you're asking though because that's just retarded.

Re: Do You Like Movies With A Lot Of Violence?

Yes, but it has to be justified.

If the violence is used to provoke a response, such as disgust or outrage at some morale cause the film is portraying, that is fine. If the movie is a dumb action flick, meant to stimulate the viewer, then that is okay too.

However, if the gore is presented in an overly indulgent and gratuitous way, then I won't like it. It's a reason why I dislike most Tarantino movies.

I completely agree with that sentiment. I really dig war movies which more often than not have a lot of violence, but theres usually a purpose involved. In contrast, I remember going to see Rambo 4 in the theatre and finding it to be a tough thing to stomach all the way through.

Lots of good (full length) videos that dont suck (including wrestling) @ www.dailymotion.com/AntiFlag607, check it out.

What the guys above have said. If it's handled well artistically (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, Candyman, Snowtown) then I'm all for it. I generally prefer psychological horror though.

funny, i was going to specifically use American History X as an example of a violent movie, but for the right reasons and not too exaggerated.
