Re: Best Stand Up Specials
Start with Lewis Black, Patton Oswalt and Louis CK. Don't bother with the watered down, 30 minute Comedy Central stuff though, go right to the albums/HBO specials.
It's pretty much all good but to narrow down some select things
Lewis Black: Rules Of Enragement, The Carnagie Hall Performance, Anticipation, Black On Broadway, Red White And Screwed, The White Album (that's more than enough but I can't help it, he's so amazing)
Patton Oswalt: My Weakness Is Strong, Werewolves And Lollipops, Finest Hour
Louis CK: Shameless, Chewed Up, Hilarious
Invest in these shows and I guarantee you won't regret it. If Carlin is your all time favourite (mine too) all this shit is up your alley, you'll be laughing for weeks.
If I was to recommend only one from all 3, it would be Rules of Enragement, My Weakness Is Strong, and either Shameless or Chewed Up, I'm not really sure which of Louis's I'd recommend more. But those are the best one from each.
